Yeah, I guess we'll just leave it up to Sam and see what he wants to do. Either way, I'm sure Sam will make the right decision. |

Some of us had that urge to get them all even before the shiny rate was changed from 1/10k to 1/1k. I encountered over 2525 normal pikachus before the rate was changed (yes I counted), and I still haven't got one. When multiplayer comes out (which will theoretically be much more secure) the shiny rate will be 1/10k as it used to be, but I get the feeling that the 1/1k rate is here to stay for single player (partially to limit people from feeling the need to hack for them). |

I heard somewhere that the rate will be lowered only for multiplayer so it should stay at 1/1k for single player. And personally I think this is a good idea and there's no need to improve shinies more. |

I'm not too sure if I'm the only one here but catching shinies is no problem at all for me. I also seem to get them at a very fast rate. It could just be luck but there were times where I've caught 2-3 shinies in a round and id catch about 3 or 4 to every 5-10 rounds. Does anyone find that odd or is that seem right?

Mysticman appears to be the only one that knows about shinies in the actual games, so I agree with him. Way back before a third of us started playing, the shiny chance was 1/10000. This started an gigantic rush to see who would be the lucky guy that caught the first shiny Pikachu, the original wild shiny. Some of us got it (like me), some didn't, and most trolled Sam because they didn't want to pay $10-20 for a shiny. To stop the trolling, he ended donation incentives. After getting some backtalk about how shinies would now be impossible to get, he finally lowered increased the shiny rate to 1/1000, TEN TIMES MORE than before. By this point, he should have stopped the shiny hunts. Not saying I don't do them like everybody else, but just that handing out something that cost $20 earlier for free seemed dumb. He admitted it, so we forgive him. Now apart from the history lesson, here's my point. Shinies have the following benefits: 1. Epic sprites, complete with twinkles 2. Appears with health in the red (which, though no one realizes it, saves you 1 KO) 3. EXTREMELY high chance of appearing, as compared to the actual games. 4. Here's the big one, EXP BOOST BY 50%. Shinies did not have that before. So, here's what I have to say: 1. Shiny Pidgey appear about every 7 runs through Rt. 5, so don't beat yourself up. 2. Shinies are different enough that you should notice one immediately, so don't rant at Sam. 3. Obviously, I oppose the idea of stat increase. Just put a Lv.10- poke in front and you'll be fine. Congrats if you read this the whole way through, and have a good day. |

That is completely unnecessary for an alarm or w/e when a shiny shows up. They are supposed to be at least a little hard to catch. Now with the shiny rate being increased from .01% to .1% they are common and there is no challenge at all in catching them. An alarm would just make catching them 10x easier which is completely unnecessary. |

U ppl win. sam's incorporating a pop-up but shines are easy enough to get in this game without trying. srsly, you see 5 pokemon per second at any given time, is it that hard to see one? not only is the rate high enough, the waves come in such large groups you have to be pretty unlucky to not see any. also, pop-ups. GAME DISRUPTION! srsly, ur complaining about stuff thats easy to resolve. you can see a shiny pokemon before they get close to your pokemon. |

At this rate Sam is just going to hand us a code to use to get every shiny. Whats the point of even trying to catch them now... |
