OKAY so, I had this idea for a level for the underground path a few updates ago, which i posted on Sam's blog. I guess it just went unnoticed... BUT, lucky for me, there are 2 underground paths. so Let me try posting it again here and see what happens.

Story
this part will mostly be filled in by Sam, since it's his game and he knows the direction he wants to take it. but leading up to the level we'll see team rocket talking about how they need to get all of the rare candies they've collected from Celadon City to Lavender Town, so they're taking it through the underground path.

Available Pokemon
the following Pokemon should be seen on this level
Pidgy
Mankey
Meowth
Ekans(R)
Growleth(R)
Oddish(R)
Bellsprout(B)
Sandshrew(B)
Vulpix(B)
these are the only Pokemon that are native to routes 7 and 8. unfortunately there is nothing new there, but you could probably throw in something like Ponyta to make people happy

The Mechanics
This level is going to be a little different than the rest, instead of the Pokemon going to pick up the candy and then leaving with it, they're all going to start off with 1 candy in their hands. once the Pokemon is dead, it drops it's candy. Pokemon won't be able to pick up the dropped candy because they've already got candy in their hands, unless you're using a move like sand attack, in which case, they'll drop one and pick up the next closest.
BUT
every few waves, there will be a boss Pokemon, with increased speed and defense, probably a Meowth or something. He won't have any rare candy, his job is to pick up candies that have fallen, and he's immune to moves like sand attack (anything that causes the Pokemon to drop their candy).
He will keep coming back until he is killed (like usual).
Meowth will serve as a way to prevent people from using moves like sand attack to beat the level.

The Design

where team rocket starts on the left staircase and ends on the right one. the square placement doesn't matter too much, except they should all be on the same side. I tried to space them by eye and, as you can see, did a poor job at it. lol.

ANYWAYS

WIN CONDITION
Since the level is played differently, you're going to have to win differently...
let's assume in this level, there are 10 waves
and in each of those 10 waves, there are 10 Pokemon
(this excludes the boss Meowth who should show up 3 times or so)
if each of those Pokemon are carrying candy, there should be 100 possible candy to save.
you'll have to save 90% of them

in other words, once they successfully capture 10 candies, you lose.
these numbers are all hypothetical, even the winning %, and can be changed to better suit the game.

alright, well this was my suggestion. and I know we're nowhere near the second underground path at this point, but if I leave it up now, it gives everyone time to read it and discuss about it.

so leave comments with your thoughts or ideas on how we can make the map better.

thank you.

nice idea, i like it, but you need to figure out an explanation why the meowth is immune to sand attack and other such moves
Sorry for the bad English :P I got tired of putting that under my message XD

For people talking about meowth I don't think he meant it had to be meowth, it was more of a suggestion, but maybe general mewtwo gave meowth some psychic power to deflect "candy dropping" attacks, or turned him into "Metal Meowth" giving him the ability to take more damage, not drop candy, and be affect by status changes.......... Sounds like a good idea, although the map would have to be fairly long (left to right distance) so the player would have a chance

i like the idea, but i don't like the wild pokemon available, unless you add a new pokemon like doduo. doduo fits in there as it appears in wild in the eastern route of the 4th gym city as first in the game. add doduo by the available pokemon and i'll completely agree with ya :$ !
