Has anyone tried out Diglett`s Cave yet? Its quite hard.
I have beaten it, but the strategy contained wirlwind...
The bosses are really hard, i tried it with Alakazam, Charizard, Blastoise, Gyarados, Jynx, and Arcanine/Golem/Staryu,
but no luck without Whirlwind...

Has anyone managed to beat it without whirlwind? If so show us you strategies!
Also, has anyone gotten the Npc trade, and does Cut have an use yet?

As for strategy, I recruited Jynx and gyrados to spam ice attacks then filled the rest of the roster with anything that could launch an accuracy reducer then slowlywalk them down the line as the candies inch their way down.

If you teach a pokemon cut, and then place them next to the skinny tree in route 2 it will allow you to meet the trader (your abra for a mr. mime).

Have not yet found flash.

How did you figure that out so fast? O_O
I wonder if Mr.Mime is any good. Probably not better than Alakazam.

Anyone having problems with the pokemon just "eating" (randomly disappearing) the rare candies randomly? I've been doing the lvl quite a few times, and I've randomly lost about 3/4 of the time because the rare candy on whatever pokemon I've been whirlwinding just vanishes into thin air and then I end up losing.

Edit: Nvm, I figured out what was causing it. If they go a little too far up on the path they'll turn around automatically and return the rare candy. Kinda weird that its so far forward on the patch instead of being on the edge where they spawn from.

The Pokemon that have the candies that are returning to the beginning are dumping them off the screen because that's what happens when an attacker goes off the screen with a rare candy. As long as an attacker goes off the screen with a candy, whether it be the beginning or the end of the map layout, counts as losing the candy. But I will say that where they "drop it off" at the entrance is right above the first Pokemon Tower spot that is located in the corner directly in front of the entrance.

Yeah hehe, I just did it again and noticed that the drop off point is really far from where they spawn (kinda odd).

Sand Attack works quite nice aswell. You can stall the enemies all until the final wave.

I beat this cave without whirlwind. I survived with two candies, it was hard but I made it.

On the first slot I had a level 36 Golem using Rock Blast, second was a Level 42 Golem using Bulldoze, third was a level 36 Starmie using bubble beam, top was a Level 41 Arcanine using helping hand/Flamethrower/Bite, right slot was Alakazam using psychic and the slot below all those had a Level 40 Raichu using thunderbolt.

I had to catch a few regular pokemon just to beat the level. o.e

I haven't used Whirlwind yet, instead I used Jynx to spam Fake Tears to anybody coming into the level. That brings down the Sp. Def. of all the enemies ensuring way more damage. Pair that with any pokemon that knows helping hand (growlithe/arcanine, nidoran male/female, im sure there are more).

With the enemy pokemon Sp Def down and all your attackers Sp Def up your attack strength goes through the roof, especially if you target the enemies type weaknesses and take advantage of STAB bonuses.

My alakazam was doing 848 damage to the spearows... it's very helpful.

With that combo I think the pokemon you choose can be pretty interchangable but I used a poliwrath with hydro pump and a golem with bulldoze. I used a pickachu with thunderbolt, but tried the level again and was able to beat it without.

Also heads up because one of the slots wasn't allowing any of my pokemon to attack (left most spot on the bottom most row).

i beat it using a bunch of aoe attacks at the beginning and using alakazam and parasect to help take out the bulkier pokemon later on. i put up a more visual guide in the walkthrough section so you can see how i did it if you'd like
