I tried the vermilion challenge level, but after many attemps I found out that it's harder then the gym in the story level. I did complete the level when it was a story level before the update making it a challenge level, but after the 3.5.1 update it seems like a pokemon is only affected by whirlwind/roar one time. Help anyone?

That's because in the last update he made it so pokemon can only be affected one time by those moves. The level was too easy if you spammed them. I would suggest haveing one pokemon using sand-attack or a similar move so the enemies drop the candy. Other than that I used a Golem with Bulldoze, Poliwrath with Hydro Pump, Arcanine with Helping Hand and Flamethrower, Jynx using Fake Tears and Powder Snow, and Alakazam with Calm Mind/Psychic. I also experimented switching the team around a bit by losing the Sand Attack pokemon and swapping it for my Pikachu to use Thunderwave and Thunderbolt. Both strategies worked out for me and I never used whirlwind |

With the new attack rebalancement and Lv.44 it's quite easy to beat. I even had no strategy, i just used Golem(Bulldoze), Machamp(seismic toss), Alakazam, Starmie, Jynx, Mr.Mime(all Psychic) at lv.44. I placed Golem, Machamp, Alakazam and Jynx at the four central places and moved Starmie and Mr.Mime from place to place where they could help the most. All pokemon except for the raichu where no problem and didn't take any candy at all. I completed the challenge level with both achievement because there were 3 candies left. |
sorry for my bad english, i'm German

I tried it, not really useful because I didn't have all 44s. I used the same, except one with flamethrower/helping hand, and place the bottom 2 psychics to the top at the start of wave 19. Then placed them back after the hard part was over. I didn't lose any candy. |
