| [closed]Lavender's making me Blue[closed]; I don't want to sound ungrateful or like a standard gamer-troll but does anyone else feel that lavender is a pain? | |

I just tried to beat the new Lavender town level and its Persian parade and have come away feeling like To avoid coming across as a standard griper, which I really don't want to seem like; I really do love this creative game; I'm gonna try and lay out my complaints as follows; 1: the Persians are each at least level 40. tower defense games by definition are supposed to have the towers significantly stronger than the fodder running past. The fodders' only defenses must be a carefully mitigated balance of speed vs health/durability. These Persian have simply far too many advantages on their side when they are fast, resilient, AND can fight back. 2: the Persians are level 40 when 2 levels prior we were dealing with level 20 diglett and drowzy. 3: The moves these Persian are using prevent any sort of cohesive strategy or effective team. While the first waves only use rest and protect (not a problem) when they start using thunderbolt, shadow-claw, and water-gun; a problem comes into focus. This is one of the reasons tower defense games don't have the fodder attacking the towers. 4: the moves the Persian are using. Admittedly, the moves the Persian are using aren't that hard to figure out if you can look at the TM menu of your own Persian. however, if we get to the point where there is a Pokemon we need to fight with this setup that we cant catch yet, we are officially in trouble. 5: finally, Math and the level cap. Lets assume I have 6 (max) level 44 Pokemon, all of whom have a 1X resistance to all of the Persians' attacks. If, let's say, the 1st 2 use a slowing and damaging move (rock throw) and the last 2 buy more time (whirlwind/roar) then it's a safe assumption to assume each Persian will be hit a maximum of 4 times by each of the 4 attacking Pokemon (not including the non-attackers using roar). This would be plenty to take out these felines if they weren't as fast, as numerous, and if they weren't hammering on passes 30X as much damage (I've never reached wave 8 so I can't be sure) to EACH of my Pokemon. I hope you guys look at these arguments and see some merit. It would be a shame if independent game designers with such a high level of performance such as yourselves were to flounder after coming this far. Thanks Edit: I know it is possible to beat, I just feel that it shouldn't make the elite four seem like child's play Edited by Infernoraptor, Aug 23 2011, 11:40 AM.

yup. the sense of pokémon is that you can train your pokémon so high that most of the trainers are easy, so you do not have to have your whole team capped and still problems with many pokemons... |
