My Team

The Machamps and Primeape use Cross Chop exclusively.
The NidoQueen needs to know Helping Hand and Seismic Toss (learned by TM)

Note that any combination of five level 44 Cross Chop users is fine.
The only pokemon in PTD that can learn Cross Chop are Machop/Machoke/Machamp and Mankey/Primeape

Additionally, NidoKing is a viable alternative to NidoQueen as it can learn the same moves.
I am unsure if growlithe with helping hand would allow you to keep all candies, though it would likely allow the level to be passed.

Initial Positioning
Posted Image

Be sure to place the NidoQueen (or NidoKing) last and have its initial move set to Helping Hand.

Its a Team Game

Once NidoQueen/King has used Helping Hand, be sure to switch its attack to Seismic Toss.

Those Pesky Attacks
Posted Image

The first wave of counter attackers will damage your front pokes, move them to the center.
It is then necessary to re use the Helping Hand buff.

Eventually at least a couple of your pokemon will die, DO NOT PANIC!
Reposition your remaining pokemon to the front positions.
Only 3 cross choppers are necessary to kill an incoming wave.

As you can see, only 1 of my three had the Helping Hand buff as my NidoQueen was an unfortunate fatality.

The Payoff

All 5 candies are safe!

Icerith, you can catch Machops fairly easily in Rock Tunnel. They are an option for the swarms of pokemon that appear.

For Reference.

Mankey and Nidoran (male and female) are common on route 3.

The fastest way to level Machop and Nidorans is to teach them flamethrower and play route 5.

Mankey/Primeape level slower, so I would not recommend using them unless you want to.

It should take 3-4 hours to level from level 20 to 44 for the Machops during which time the Nidoran should also get to 44.

Hope this helped and good luck! :)
