WINNERSH BBC News Berkshire Flooded Loddon Bridge park and ride stays closed A flooded park and ride site in Berkshire will remain closed for the rest of the day. The Loddon Bridge site in Winnersh, which has a history of shutting after heavy rainfall, has been affected again this week. Wokingham council said it hoped it would reopen on Saturday but with more rain forecast this could be revised. On Thursday, motorists across Berkshire endured travel delays after heavy rainfall caused flooding on some roads. By mid-morning the B4494 Oxford Road in Newbury was barely passable between the Grove Road and Love Lane junctions. Sandford Lane in Woodley and Emmbrook Road in Wokingham were also closed for a time. Flood alerts have been issued for Lower River Loddon, the River Pang and the River Blackwater at Swallowfield.

I wonder how much damage this overnight storm has done to the Thames Valley? This reminds me of the 1987 storm only I slept through that but this is impossible. |

Was a wild night here but pleased to say I slept through it. But a couple of fence panels I've been nursing through the wind for the last couple of months have finally succumbed to the elements. But if I have come through all this bad weather with just a couple of broken fence panels I count myself very lucky, especially when I see the awful conditions other people are having to cope with. |

Still very windy here and is forecast for the rest of the day. But I'm going to have to sort the fences out or I'll have next doors dog charging round our garden

I didn't sleep at all last night. The winds were relentless. Looks like I'm going to be very busy in work again. |

Mike, might be a silly question but can a insurance company write a house off like a car? |

Absolutely. It may end up more to repair a house than demolish it and rebuild especially as VAT might not be charged on the new build. |

The interesting thing is this is nowhere near as bas as 2007 when 55,000 properties were flooded. To date only around 6000 have flooded this time around...2007 was a nightmare with Nicky's mum and dad flooded out in Tewkesbury, her brother flooded out in Gloucester,my brother-in-law having to abandon his car in flood waters and my mum and dad with no water supply...whilst I was working 17 hour days trying to keep on top of things before going on holiday. Not fun. I remember in June that year spending a weeken working on floods in Hull only for the same incredible downpours occurring in Gloucestershire the following month(it was head in hands time). |

It's still very windy here near Camberley. Luckily no damage to our property, just had a few empty plant containers dancing around the garden late last night. We have had about 4 trees down along Hawley Road next to my house. Road is still closed due to the trees blocking it. I think it will take a while to clear them as they are quite large. They came down in the night but no-one was hurt which is the main thing. Like everyone, I've had enough now of this continuous horrible weather. Sam hasn't played a game of football since before Christmas as the pitches are so waterlogged. His game at Petersfield tomorrow is still on at the moment but wouldn't be surprised if it's cancelled. Still time yet! The backlog of games that still needing playing is getting longer every week. He's recently qualified too as a referee but hasn't managed to get a game yet. Very frustrating for him
