Just like I suspected points in the bag are better than games in hand.

We drew a week gone Tuesday in a catch up fixture - 2 points dropped! and won at weekend. It now means even if we win all our games in hand we will still be 2 points behind Blyth Spartans at the top.

The good news though as there always is some, is that Blyth beat Salford City so they drop back a bit and couldn't happen to nicer bunch of lying owners. I say this as I watched their exploits on BT Sport in FA Cup when Scholes and co got interviewed at the game because it was on TV and all publicity is good publicity. Those gits stood there and said they are at all the home games for Salford. Where were you then last year when we played you. I was stood no more than 5 yards from the tin shed they claim to always be in and not one of them was there. I'll even have a bet now that when I go in Feb to this years meeting they wont be there then either.

Possibly Daibo.
Prefer us to go up automatically but if not i suppose play-offs are next best thing.

At weekend we won and so did Blyth, if only they'd slip up and draw a game. Still Salford drew which leaves them 9 points behind Blyth and if we win our games in hand they would be 7 behind us.

I tend to think now that this is going to go until the end of the season and right to the wire.

Tuesday night saw Workington, currently in second spot, beat Blyth Spartans at the top 2-0. We duly despatched Buxton at home 3-1.
We are still 4 games in hand but now if we win then we would be 1 point behind Blyth.

With only just over half of the season gone I think there are going to be a lot more chances and if and buts for that title.

If Blyth wobble - and they've lost two out of last 4 - Darlington could still very much get the auto place, look at the games in hand!

2. Salford 36 69
3. Darlington 32 68
4. Workington 35 66
5. Barwell 36 66
6. Stourbridge 33 65

Yes we won in mid week so now we can get 12 points from games in hand and are only 10 behind.
I still though think it is better to have the points in the bag than games in hand.

Even better after a 4-1 away win yesterday, top of table:

Pl - Pts

1. Blyth 37 78
2. Darlington 34 74
3. Salford 38 72
4. Workington 36 69

three games in hand, four points off ... and only one up automatically!
