Yep they have been a team possessed of late. We all thought when they lost to Frickley that they were going to throw it away but turns out to be a blip. Last night was a good match and we had it sewn up at half time with a 2-0 lead and were in control. Cartman has been a revelation this season for me and scored yet again. He has 19 goals this season and isn't our top scorer. Well in truth he is but it shows as Hardy the striker we signed from Buxton but he scored most of his with them. |

for RR members - current table, top 8 Pl - Points 1. Darlington 42 95 ---------------------------------- 2. Blyth 43 93 3. Salford 44 86 4. Ashton Utd 43 81 5. Stourbridge 43 81 ---------------------------------------- 6. Workington 43 77 7. Barwell 43 70 8. Frickley 42 68 They play 46 games, so Darlington could still theoretically get 107 points. That says how good they've been playing. If they could go up second season on the bounce, it'd only be two steps away from the Football League, that's right isn't it Darlo?! Yes. If we win this league we are into the National North (old Conference North) which is 2 away from League status again. National North promotes to National League which promotes to Football League Two. |

Jesus this weekend was a nightmare and I'm just about stitching my fingers back on after biting them all the way down. Firstly half way to Darlo for Saturday's game against Stamford when it's called off and re-arranged for Sunday at Spennymoor Town with the leagues agreement. So Saturday's other fixtures take place and Blyth Spartans win putting them top again by a point but we then have 2 games in hand. Sunday we roll out to the game and all going well as we take the lead that is until Stamford equalise and what should be an easy game is turning into a nightmare as they looked good and probably more likely to score. More than half way through the second half and we are all thinking we will take a point...and we are at home. Then Mitchell gets us a goal and we are two one up and light appears at the end of the tunnel. Nope Stamford go at us like their life depends on it and to a degree it does as they are in the relegation zone. We hit 90 mins and the board goes up with 4 mins extra and they were the longest 4 mins of my life. We actually played abut 5 and half extra be who's counting. What really did it was Stamford didn't give up, they missed a sitter near the end and in extra time hit the bar. We now sit back top 2 points clear and a game in hand but in all honesty the better team lost. A fair result was the other way around 2-1 to them or they at least deserved a point but I guess when it isn't going your way it just ain't going to happen. All i can say is thank god we don't have to play Stamford again in the last three games. Edited by Darlington, 18 Apr 2016, 03:18 PM.

It reallly is a long hard slog back for Darlo. In time they will get there.I'm sure another promotion will follow and then comes the crunch in getting out of the National League which is incredibly competitive. |

Can't believe it...what a game last night at Whitby never mind the celebration after. We were 3 up in ten minutes I don't think us fans knew what had hit us and nor did Whitby. We were almost ready to celebrate then but when the fourth went in just around twenty minutes followed by a fifth we did. 5-0 up it was like watching Barcelona.....well maybe not. Felt sorry for Whitby a bit as they were just shell shocked. After that I kinda lost track but the main thing is we won it and took the title and we are now in the National North next season. We are back in the league we probably would have been in had the FA not booted us to oblivion and made us change the name....prats. The big question now is how long it will take us to get to the Conference and hopefully back to the league. Edited by Darlington, 22 Apr 2016, 07:27 AM.
