Andrew Marr interviewed Chuka Umunna on his show this morning. He is considered one of the front runners for the post as the next leader of the Labour party. All I can say is god help the Labour party. Pretty much all of the Labour speakers I have heard have said that they got their election campaign wrong. Not Chuka Umunna, he seems to think that they got it right but the electorate didn't understand the message they were trying to get across. If the bloke can't accept that they did get it wrong he is deceiving himself. If he does get the job I can see him taking the party even lower than they are at the moment. Marr also interviewed Peter Mandelson. I don't much like him, but he said it how it was. |

I like Andy Burnham. He talks sense and in a language normal people can understand. That was one of Milibands biggest problems, he always sounded like a robot reading a very carefully written script. |

I wanted Burnham to be the leader last time but he lost out. The party need to move on and go for someone who is not a career politician. Dan Jarvis MBE has a cracking army career behind him. He has known tough times as his wife died of cancer when their three children were still really young. He has not lived inside the Westminster bubble and is not associated with the past ten years of Labour failure. He is my choice but I think Umunna will get it. |

Jarvis has ruled out going for the leadership. That's a real shame |

Umunna is the epitome of a career politician. He will never convince the people in the middle section of society to back Labour, and they're the people they have to get on board to prevent another hammering in 2020. |

I hope Labour pick a good leader, I voted Labour in the last election for their policies but I still freaking hated Ed Miliband, he just came off as unlikable and I think that held back Labour. I'd compare it to Cameron vs Brown, Brown was by far the better man for the job and a far better politician but lost because he had the charisma of a damp squib. |

Brown lost purely because of the financial disaster. Which given he was PM during it, and Chancellor before it made him the most accountable of any MP. He had no chance really, i'm surprised it got so close. |

Miliband and Jarvis have already ruled themselves out. I quite like Rachel Reeves. No nonsense. Stella Creasy is fit although I suppose that shouldn't be the criteria upon which to select a leader |
