Yes agreed Steve but he will scare off as many as he appeals too. He is also too old.
If he can guide Labour to where they need to be I think his age is irrelevant.

I hope you're right but it is going to be a very rocky road.

So Corbyn it is then. With a very impressive victory, 59% of the vote in the first round.

Yep but he won't be PM in 2020.

More than Tony Blair got when he was elected as Labour leader...

In fairness to him Mike, nor will any other Labour MP. The party will probably waste the next two years trying to get rid of him. Lots of internal squabbles ahead I think.

He won't last long. Though I think he will shake up the Labour party and give them some more character. Will put off as many people from Labour as he'll reclaim I would imagine.

When he gets forced out it will give a good opportunity for the next leader, David Miliband?

If het gets forced out there would be a bloodbath. There is no interest in the party for another Blairist like David Miliband. The only Blairite candidate in this election won less than 5% of the vote.

I think Corbyn will still be leader up to 2020 when Labour lose the election. I hope that Dan Jarvis then steps up to the mark as he is the only one in the party who I can reckon can get Labour back into power.

I can't see how Labour are going to change their current plight. For so long now they have been so close to centre they have nothing fresh to say. They have had absolutely no identity other than appearing like a poor mans conservative party.

There was a time when we all knew, pretty much, what Labour and the Conservatives stood for, so it was easy to know where to put your cross on polling day. But its going to take a very special Labour leader, with some very special policies, to make that a reality in the future. Corbyn certainly isn't that person but, then again, neither were Burnham (who a year ago I thought would be a good choice), Kendall or Cooper.
