Former Chelsea Doctor Eva Carneiro Starts New Job Outside Football

Former Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro has reportedly secured a new job outside of football in her country of birth Gibraltar as her legal battle with Chelsea continues.

The 42-year-old doctor, who is claiming constructive dismissal and sexual discrimination against Chelsea Football club following her treatment after Jose Mourinho's opening weekend public criticism, has decided to quit football according to a report by Goal.com.

Ms Carneiro has agreed to take up a role at a medical clinic in Gibraltar as the court proceedings continue in the UK.

A post on the Gibraltar Specialist Medical Clinic's facebook page outlined the 42-year-old's qualities: "As Sports Medicine and Exercise Medicine Consultant Doctor Eva specialises in the treatment of athletes and other physically active individuals. Sports and Exercise medicine physicians have extensive education in musculoskeletal medicine. She is able to treat injuries such as muscle, ligament, tendon and bone problems, but may also treat chronic illnesses that can affect physical performance, such as asthma and diabetes. Dr Carneiro will also advise on managing and preventing injuries, sports and exercise nutrition, supplementation and performance enhancement."

Ms Carneiro left the club after then Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho had been visibly angered by her and fellow Chelsea doctor Jon Fearne, decision to run onto the pitch to treat the seemingly injured Eden Hazard which resulted in Chelsea being left with ten men with only minutes to spare. After being demoted following this incident, Ms Carneiro decided to leave the club six weeks later due to alleged sexual discrimination and has decided to sue the club citing 'constructive dismissal' and sexual discrimination with legal proceedings still ongoing.
