from the Blackpool forum 'military expert' "Is nuclear war inevitable? There appears to be anywhere between 10,000 and 20,000 weapons of mass destruction in the hands of nine countries and there are various scenarios as to how nuclear war could come about. There is always the possibility of an accidental launching of missiles carrying nuclear warheads when one country believes it is under attack from incoming missiles and retaliates. A conventional war with one side finding that thousands of it's military are surrounded and responds with a missile attack. A pre emptive strike by one nuclear power on another. A conventional war with one side starring defeat in the face uses a nuclear attack as a last ditch response. A terrorist attack. I believe it is inevitable, sad to say." |
