He's Having A Laugh Isn't He......He Surely Can't Be Serious?

Who you wonder, well It's West Ham's manager Slavan Bilic. The guy after going to a replay and then 120 mins of that replay in the Cup against Liverpool before winning declared that it is "one of the greatest wins in West Ham's history"
Now I am sure progressing in the cup is good but he needs to get it in perspective. West Ham fielded a nigh on full strength side for both games where Liverpool fielded a bunch of kids for the best part. So Mr Bilic it has taken your team 210 minutes of football to get a last gasp winner against a team of under 21's and youth's. If that is one of the greatest west Ham wins it doesn't say much for all the others now does it.

Perhaps he said "... with me as manager..." under his breath when he said it? ;)

But to be honest, whatever team Liverpool chooses to field, it was a win over Liverpool, and those are taken quite seriously by most people. The details of each club's XI will be largely forgotten by next month, but the record will always show a win over Liverpool by West Ham. Even the pigeons like to puff out their chests over something! ;) :D :D

Greatest wins don't necessarily have to mean demolitions of the opponent. From watching games I get an absolute buzz from last minute winners, just like I get so dejected when we let in a goal last minute (See QPR at home this season.... :'()

Liverpool are a big club regardless of what team they field. I think it matters more as they're leaving Upton Park at the end of this season, so to get a good weeknight game in with a last minute winner sending you through in the cup is a good result.

I appreciate where you're coming from, but I'd take a last minute winner over a 4-0 comfortable win in terms of excitement any day of the week

West Ham are higher in the table and have beaten Liverpool three times this season, scoring seven goals and conceding one. So they are in fact the better team at the moment - in what way is it one of their best ever wins?
