CPFC fan in pace!; Last Friday Night

Just wanted to say how impressed I was with your crowd last Friday night. We sat in an almost identical position as our previous round at Tottenham (8 rows back on the large screen side) and there was no comparison. You were loud, passionate and a great array of songs, compare that with THFC with an occasional, albeit good, rendition of 'when the Spurs...' and not much else. Although there was the usual collection of 14 years old spitting and snarling at each other from the safety of a tunnel between them, the banter, songs back and forth, hand gestures I thought were exactly what it should be. Much respect!

What was that display about though??!! And lose the 'clackers'!

Good luck for the rest of the season, may we meet in the top flight soon!

many thanks, must say I've always had a really good welcome on the Holmesdale site ...

I'll let those who were there comment on the real match atmosphere though :)

Thanks. Our fans are usually quite good during games where there's something at stake. Your fans were good as well - made for a great atmosphere in the stadium. There's quite often the odd hand gesture and the like, though it's generally in good humour.

Usually fans of bigger teams don't sing much - probably because most of the seats are taken up by day trippers. I've been to Man Utd, Arsenal, etc - and their fans were pretty silent for the entire game (expect when they scored).

I was pretty embarrassed about the display and the clap bangers - although the stand that they were in is the 'family stand' and the club usually do some things like that for the younger supporters.

We probably won't be meeting you in the Premier League any time soon - the squad's going to need to be overhauled in the summer (yet again) and we're probably about two years away from making a push for promotion.

I think the better team won the game in end, although to go out to a very soft penalty (I don't think it was a penalty, personally) was quite annoying.

Have a great day out at Wembley and good luck for the rest of the season. :)

Have to echo Clyde's comments. The best side on the night won, just a shame it was a controversial goal that opened the game up.

Still not the biggest fan of AP. Found it quite funny that after his jacket throwing antics during the Liverpool game, he chose to keep quiet about his team own 'Soft' penalty award...

Our fans were proper up for it last week, I wish I could say that Palace fans were equally as great. I thought that your fans were surprisingly quiet for Crystal Palace, if I were to compare you to any other team then you'd be up there but last week I kind of expected more from you.

Zaha really didn't like the chanting at him after his little scrap with Gunter... :D

Palace were the better side but we were very disappointing on the night and didn't get going.
We were in the North stand and used the clackers. No big deal really. Why football fans get so high brow about such things escapes me. They helped to make more noise.

Frightening how much peace Zaha and Bolasie had up front, far faster than anything in the Championship, and speedy players have been our problem for some time.

Doesn't bother me with clackers given to like 20% of the Stadium, at what is normally the quietest end. Maybe slightly embarrassing, but the improvement it makes is noticeable as we suddenly don't have an area where no noise is coming from and the place seems a lot louder.

It's certainly less embarrassing having a clacker than joining in with some of the moronic East stand chants reference Pardew.
Decent atmosphere on Friday night and the ground looked a treat albeit the pitch was a bit ropey.
