According to the BBC, Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith has resigned due to concerns over changes to disability benefits.

Very interesting...

"I have for some time and rather reluctantly come to believe that the latest changes to benefits to the disabled and the context in which they've been made are, a compromise too far. While they are defensible in narrow terms, given the continuing deficit, they are not defensible in the way they were placed within a Budget that benefits higher earning taxpayers. They should have instead been part of a wider process to engage others in finding the best way to better focus resources on those most in need."

@simon_price01: Imagine devising a budget so cruel and brutal that IAIN DUNCAN SMITH quits over it. Impressive work, George Osborne.

This is all about BREXIT.
IDS is a piece of work and I don't buy this sudden show of compassion. He wants to damage Cameron and help get us out of the EU.
You just know you are voting on the right side when you have heartless bast**** like IDS,Gove,Johnson and Farage all on the same side over the referendum.

@paulwaugh: I know for a fact IDS wrote resignation letter at least TWICE b4 in protest at Treasury cuts Had one in pocket on night of taxcredits U-turn

@Mancman10: Radio 5 saying Number 10 states that IDS was defending the disabled cuts in meetings today so is this a smokescreen for him being anti EU?

Appears it's purely about Europe. What a shock(!)
