It's a rare fairy tale story and, apart from Arsenal, Spurs and City fans, everyone else is rooting for Leicester to upset the Apple cart. Just hope they don't fall in the final run in. |

Hopefully Leicester can win the league, not only to complete the fairytale but to show clubs that you don't have to spend millions on players and wages to win the league. Hopefully this is the season that starts a major cultural change in English football. |

So why have Leicester done so well at the expense of the big boys? A reason put forward is that the league is so tough every team has to go hard every week, meaning a leveling out of games. When you look at the teams now in the Premier League most of them have two or three real quality players, meaning anyone can beat anyone (except for Villa!). Add that to the fact that the top teams' level has dropped and it adds up to the most competitive competition for years. Premier League teams generally dismal performance in Europe is put down to those reasons, but the fact is the top teams in Spain and Germany would walk the Premier League. People say the likes of Barcelona and Munich fare so well against our teams because their leagues are so easy and again there might be some truth in that, but I look at it like this - imagine every player in Europe had two months free from football but stayed match fit; if Barca, Munich or PSG then played any Premier League team they'd outclass them. |

I have to agree. The Premier League is pretty unique in that anyone can beat anyone - in very few leagues would you see this. Barca and Munich probably would walk the Premier League, but I'd rather have a very competitive league than a league where there are one or two really good teams. The lower teams in Germany or Spain wouldn't be able to compete with the lower teams in England (possible excluding Villa). You'll probably never see a Granada or a Augsburg challenge for the title in their leagues. About fourteen months ago Leicester looked certain for relegation, now they look certain for the title. I think Barcelona and Bayern do benefit heavily from being big fish - they can say to any player: "join us and you'll win the title with us", which may make it easier to sign players. Teams in England can't do that, because the league is so competitive. There's also the point that finishing bottom of the Premier League earns you more money than winning the Champions League - so it's more beneficial for English teams to do well in the league than it is to do well in Europe (financially) - whereas for Spanish and German teams the reverse is true. |

For me it is nothing to do with money it is a mind set. Henry Ford said it when he said "Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you're right!" You think you can you have a better chance of doing it that plus a great togetherness and team spirit at Leicester is worth far more than money can ever buy.
