So the terrorists have now hit the heart of the EU with bombs going off at the airport, and now they're saying explosions have now been reported on the metro system.

Not the body count of Paris - more like the London bombings. This could easily be the work of a very small cell, or the remains of a larger cell, disrupted but not eliminated by the police. This could have been accomplished by 2 or 3 terrorist - it had been reported that the terror cell responsible for the Paris attacks was planning an attack (or attacks) in Belgium. Another sad day for freedom everywhere, and for Islam, which is being hijacked by extremists.

IMO, the only way these attacks can be stopped is with the active assistance of Muslim leaders, identifying potential terrorist to the security services, and even that will not always be sufficient. When a person wishes to die to accomplish a goal, it is very hard to stop them with any kind of security.

We're in an unwinnable war at the moment. We hamstring ourselves by being so naive. Sooner or later the countries of western civilisation will realise they have to take a really hard stand against Islam. And I know the same old argument will be raised that "its not Islam, its fundamentalists within Islam", but that old chestnut is starting to wear a bit thin. Innocent people in Europe and America are being killed by these fanatics, but if it takes a sledge hammer to crack a walnut, then so be it.

One of the explosions happened less than half a mile away from the European Parliament building. Could this be related to the arrests on Friday?

Could be, but they rarely need an excuse to reign terror on innocent victims. :'(

With the migrant crisis and no checks on the people coming in, there are undoubtably many fundamental Islamics pouring in to Europe now.

Most are just innocent war victims, but even if it is a fraction of a percentage, we have people already in Europe ready and willing to kill. It frightens me, and we really need to wake up soon.

Two of the suicide bombers who carried out attacks in Brussels on Tuesday have been named as brothers Khalid and Brahim el-Bakraoui, Belgian nationals

The federal prosecutor said Brahim was part of the attack at Zaventem airport that killed 11 people. Khalid struck at Maelbeek metro, where 20 people died. Two other attackers at the airport have not yet been identified. One of them died, another is on the run. Prosecutors say Brahim left a note in which he wrote of his desperation.

Belgium is observing three days of national mourning. The nation held a minute's silence at midday (11:00 GMT) on Wednesday. Belgium's king and queen have visited the airport and met some of the 300 people injured in the attacks. About 150 people remain in hospital, 61 in intensive care.

So-called Islamic State (IS) has said it was behind the attacks.

Well if we bomb Iraq,Syria and Afghanistan we can expect reprisals. When will people learn that bombing the crap out of these countries is not the solution.
