The matches come fast and frequent in the Championship this month, so the Royals are off to Leeds to face the Whites on Saturday. While Brian may get a warm reception from the Leeds fans, the Royals are not likely to be welcome visitors. Even on points after 41 matches each, Reading sits just above Leeds in the Table based on goal differential. Recent performances are almost identical - each club has amassed 4 wins, 4 losses and 2 draws over their last 10 matches, with Leeds scoring 12 and conceding 16 goals, while Reading have scored 13 and conceded 15. Both clubs are just below mid-Table and have minimal mathematical relegation concerns but no playoff possibilities, so this is a 'playing out the season' match. Reading looks to be without striker Yann Kermorgant, whose wife is expecting a baby, so Yann will not make the trip to Leeds. Both clubs will approach this as a winnable match, so make your prediction and We Shall See! Points System - 10 points - correct result e.g. you predict Leeds 1-3 Reading and the result is Leeds 1-3 Reading (includes an exact draw prediction; draw result & correct score). 7 points - correct outcome with correct goal difference e.g. you predict Leeds 1-3 Reading and the result is Leeds 0-2 Reading. 5 points - correct outcome with incorrect goal difference e.g. you predict Leeds 1-3 Reading and the result is Leeds 0-5 Reading (this result includes a draw with the wrong score e.g. you predict a 1-1 draw and the result is 0-0). 1 point - if you get the prediction completely wrong, you still get one point for taking part! Bonus Points You get bonus points for three things: 5 points - correct half-time score 2 points - correct goalscorers, for each goalscorer predicted that does indeed score (NOTE: this season you get points for correctly predicting the goalscorers of only Reading FC. You only get the points if Reading score the same amount of goals as you predicted or more.) 5 points - correctly predicting the 'bonus question' within the specified tolerance. If one person comes closest to the actual value, that person will receive 7 points, but if two or more are both equally close, only the 5 points will be awarded. Please put the score in this format: Leeds 1-3 Reading (HT: 0-2) [Home x-y Away format] McShane McCleary Cox ...followed by your answer to the 'bonus question'... How many total shots (sum of both Reading and Leeds shots; these are all shots, not just the on target shots) will the BBC stat report show taken in this match? Bonus Points will be awarded for a forecast no more than two off the sum for the two clubs. [Given the cosmic importance of this match, I was tempted to make the sex of the Kermorgant baby the Bonus Question, but how to handle the possibility of fraternal twins of different sexes was too much for my mind... ] Good luck with your predictions and to the Royals come Saturday!
