In their final performance at Madejski Stadium this season, the Royals (15th in the Table, 52 points won over 44 matches) host Preston North End (11th in the Table, 58 points in 44 matches). The Royals have just broken their 4 match losing streak, securing a 1-1 draw away at Queens Park Rangers, while the Lilywhites are now winless in 5 matches (LDDLL), fresh off a 0-1 home defeat by Burnley. PNE has scored 4 goals while conceding 8 over their last 5 matches, compared to the Royals 5 for but 10 against over their last 5 matches. While neither club is still in contention for a playoff spot, PNE can make their way into the top 10, but Reading can not. While a Reading win might not even gain the Royals one spot of advancement in the Table, it would be a positive sign in what has been a disappointing season - a sign we'd certainly welcome. What do you predict for the Royals this Saturday evening in Berkshire? Points System 10 points - correct result e.g. you predict Reading 3-1 PNE and the result is Reading 3-1 PNE (includes an exact draw prediction; draw result & correct score); 7 points - correct outcome with correct goal difference e.g. you predict Reading 3-0 PNE and the result is Reading 4-1 PNE (this result includes a draw with the wrong score e.g. you predict a 1-1 draw and the result is 0-0); 5 points - correct outcome with incorrect goal difference e.g. you predict Reading 2-0 PNE and the result is Reading 5-1 PNE; 1 point - if you get the prediction completely wrong, you still get one point for taking part! Bonus Points You get bonus points for three things: 5 points - correct half-time score 2 points - correct goalscorers, for each goalscorer predicted that does indeed score (NOTE: this season you get points for correctly predicting the goalscorers of only Reading FC. You only get the points if Reading score the same amount of goals as you predicted or more. This prevents prediction of ridiculous scorelines for more points.) 5 points - correctly predicting the 'bonus question' within the specified tolerance. If one person comes closest to the actual value, that person will receive 7 points, but if two or more are both equally close, only the 5 points will be awarded. Please put the score in this format: Reading 3-1 PNE (HT: 1-0) [Home x-y Away format] Williams McShane Vydra ...followed by your answer to the 'bonus question'... What total number of events (shots taken plus fouls committed plus cards given plus corners taken) will the BBC stat report show for Reading for this match? Bonus Points will be awarded for a forecast no more than three off the indicated total. Good luck with your predictions and to the Royals come Saturday! Edited by Owlish52, 28 Apr 2016, 12:24 PM.

Hey, needed something different for this match, and as many events as possible will be the objective. It's easy enough to see this one as a dull match, so shots on goal and even corners could be scarce. I set my sights as wide as possible, to make sure we get to double digits... I do wish the BBC posted the number of inflatables for the next match - that would be a Bonus Question to have! Should I increase the allowable error though? Against QPR, the total would have been 32 (18 shots + 6 fouls + 1 card + 7 corners), and I try to allow 10% or so for credit, so I think I'll take that to +/- 3. Note that those are only Reading 'events'; the number of PNE shots, fouls, etc. are not included in the total (60 might be a bit on the high side, but one never knows. Now against Leeds... )
