Predictions for Stevenage v Reading please! Back on the trail of FA cup glory – for all our heroics during the last two seasons we now find OURSELVES as odds-on favourites for once. How will we respond against a team fully two leagues lower, playing on a small ground to a fervent local crowd? We understand that McDermott takes the cup more seriously than Coppell did; at least we perceive he makes fewer changes to the best current line-up, and doesn’t normally rest certain players for comfort. So then ... we wouldn’t have an excuse if it didn’t work out. We should win – but will we? OK, predictions everyone. Mine: Stevenage 1 Reading 3 daib0 |

Won't be easy but it I'd still be very disappointed if we don't win this in 90mins. I'll say 2-1 to us, Church and Leigertwood with the goals. What do you think the team will/should be? I'm sure McDermott will play the strongest possible 11 but I'd still like a few changes made and would play: Andersen Cummings Mills Pearce Harte Tabb Leigertwood Kebe Taylor Antonio Church Let's see how Andersen does in the first team with the added pressure and give Karacan a little break. From what I've seen, I really like Taylor and think he can give us a little something extra that none of our other midfielders do and his passing will hopefully give Church a chance to play his natural game. |

Hey Guys, My first post since joining. Have had quite a few accounts on 606 (BrianHowardsFlab, LoyalRoyal212) but never really felt the same without the usual guys who know what they are talking about! Anyway, enough of my whinging! Agree that despite their giantkilling of Newcastle, we should be beating them with relative ease but as we proved last year, league and form is nothing, the cup has a completely different face to it. Despite this I can still see a comfortable 2-0 victory. I can only see McDermott keeping the same team as he did for West Brom considering his selection policy for the FA cup. Although I would like to see the likes of Andersen, Morrison and Williams play, it seems unlikely. I would expect the team to be something along the lines of this: Federici Cummings - Mills - Pearce - Armstrong/Williams Kebe - Legs - Karacan - McAnuff Long - Hunt Would expect Harte and Griffin to be wrapped in cotton wool considering we have a game 3 days later and considering their occasional fitness concerns. Could possibly see M.Williams starting there as he seems content to fight for his place as he recently rejected a loan out to Carlisle and I think he does deserve another crack. Would also like to see Manset involved again at some point. |

Lots of fringe players out on loan or cup tied so we're almost forced to play a strong team. Reckon we'll win 3-2 Calcot Royal, great to have you with us! |

A very interesting game this. More possible glory for Stevenage and a possible banana skin for us. This could be a good game to blood our new players, particularly Williams and Manset who are both used to playing against lower level opposition. If our players approach this game with a better attitude than, it seemed some of the Newcastle players did, I believe we'll come out on top. I'm going for a 3-1 win to the Royals |

Just so people know, Morrison, Williams, Manset are all cup-tied for this, along with several of our younger players (Bell-Baggie for definite). |

Didn't realise they were cup-tied! Considering Hunt is still injured, could be a chance then for Bignall to show his worth (if he is not cup-tied that is!). Remember going to the home game where we played Burton in the Carling Cup and I was very, very impressed with him. Fast, strong and a decent left foot. Very much reminded me of a young Leroy Lita in the way he backed into people and held the ball up well. It's a shame it has never seemed to work out for him on loan at several places. |

Its a shame, I'd really have liked to see us try Manset and HRK up front together

Am I the only cynic here and reckons we'll lose to them as we won't be as up to it as we usually are? 2-1 Stevenage. As for the team I doubt there will be any major changes. Although I'll be chuffed if I am wrong |
