Not exactly football pure and pure, but these photos surely shaped the lives of all at the club and the local population generally.
The majority are from the sixties, and some just before that era.
Photos are roughly in newest first, oldest last order – more or less!
It's true I dedicate this to Suffolk, William & Hayes - their interest and knowledge of the town is without question, but it's equally interesting for anyone who takes a pride in what Reading used to be like, and where it has come from!

That is Palmer Park,certain,the A329 would be this side of the train tracks now,on the left of the picture my great gran used to live in Wyckam Road

Yeah - I live there. Sort of wish I didn't at times though :) .
Four of my cousins lived nearby on way in - at Beenham. One of them is down Southampton way now, a Reading/Everton supporter, and he sends me links of useful articles for RR nearly every day nowadays, well every week at least; a great help ...

A modern photo, but these houses were built in about 1841. What's more, my mother grew up here. I think it was number 40, but the family had the whole house, basement to top floor ...
