Not exactly football pure and pure, but these photos surely shaped the lives of all at the club and the local population generally.
The majority are from the sixties, and some just before that era.
Photos are roughly in newest first, oldest last order – more or less!
It's true I dedicate this to Suffolk, William & Hayes - their interest and knowledge of the town is without question, but it's equally interesting for anyone who takes a pride in what Reading used to be like, and where it has come from!

The following are from a collection of prints which I bought from the Central Library, probably sometime in the eighties. The were contained in a folder and titled 'Mary Mitford's Berkshire, twelve prints 1798-1854'. They were published by Berkshire County Library and these are the prints concerning Reading.

Mapledurham Village Alms Houses,we live in the first one when I was 11-14,the door on the right of the two was not used..It was originally two houses.
