Now all you cyclists, tell me,is there a different law for you in Reading. When you jump the lights and just miss the cars that are coming across you do you think it's funny. When you ride in the middle of the inside lane up the A33cant you see the 15ft cycle path that cost a few grand if you cared to look to your left? Another thing, those flickering lights that you got on your head like Beachy Head lighthouse,do you know that they half blind motorists coming the other way.Reading seem to have the worse cyclists in the universe, perhaps it's time the government made them pay say 50quid a year road tax.I know motorist sometime p@@s you off and they can be just as annoying to you,but come on,obey the law.

Great news just out for Hayes, to keep cyclists off the main roads!

BBC Local News

Plans for cycle route approved

Plans for a £160,000 pedestrian and cycle route that will help pupils in a Berkshire town get to school have been approved.

Wokingham council said the Earley to Bulmershe scheme was its largest single investment in cycling in a decade.

It will link the underpass in Henley Wood Road and Pond Head Lane, Earley, with Addington and Bulmershe schools in Woodlands Avenue, Woodley.

Work is expected to start in February and be completed by the end of March.

Existing footpaths and cycleways will be widened, pedestrian crossings improved and new street lighting installed.

But they don't stick to cycle lanes do they, cyclist are too arrogant. It should be made law if a cyclist rides on the road where a cycle lane is provided a thousand pound fine and two weeks jail.

Do you ever listen to yourself? It doesn't matter if a Cycle lane is provided. Bikes are legal road traffic and as such are allowed to use public roads, not including Dual carridgeways and Motorways.

It really gets on my nerves that you come on here and tar us all with the same brush. Yes, there are a lot of inconsiderate Cyclists, but there are also some of us who stop at red lights and are aware of what goes on around us. It's alright for you in the safety of your car. You're not taking your life in your hands every time you go onto the road.

Fair point, but if a lane is provided at great cost to the taxpayer cyclist should at least use it,surely it's for their safety, but don't get upset Steve ,we been through all this before,it's the last thing I want to do is fall out with you again.interesting you said that cyclist cannot use duel carriage ways because an awful lot use the new A33 instead of the cycle path.

The A33 is not stictly speaking a Dual Carridgeway as it has a 40mph speed limit, where as an actual DC is 60mph.

A dual Carriageway is actually 70 mph, the same as a motorway, unless otherwise specified.

Don't want to get into the bike thing, but just thought that the facts should be correct ;)
