The Jason Roberts stare...
Engelbert Humperdinck's song for this year's Eurovision Song Contest has been released, and it's a ballad called...

Love Will Set You Free

The link to it is here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-17429151

I must say, despite my not being a Humperdinck fan due to my not being alive when he was really successful, on hearing it it is SO MUCH BETTER than some of the awful drivel we've come out with in recent years. Not long ago the final of the decision show was between a French/Welsh singer (great song!) and a cheesy pop band called Scootch which was some aviation-based "we're flying the flag for you..." sort of rubbish, which just embarassed me to be honest with you...

Sorry went off on a bit of a tangent there... what do you think of the song? Can we win?

Hm, having listened to an extract of it, it's not bad. In fact I'd go as far as saying it's fairly good.

But we won't win, it is a political competition, and a joke of one these days. We will get points from Cyprus, Ireland and Iceland, but not much else.

Something I've never understood is how can Israel take part in the Eurovision song contest? Surely the clue to the whole idea of the competition is in the word Euro!
