Ok I always profess how much I dislike cheaters and here we go. I rooted for him the whole movie. Was I supposed to feel like that, or it's just Ben effect?

I love that they succeeded in blurring the fault/blame even before the twists at the end. They drop us in and leave so much unknown about how things were in that marriage before he cheated. Was she always kind of a ball buster, or did she only have the bouts of depression up until she discovered he'd cheated? (Were those even real or part of a long con for that matter?) Was part of the reason she was so critical of Jack selling out because she fell for him back in his legal aid days and sensed that he made the big change because of the influence of his prior girlfriend? Or was she the one who had planted the idea in his head that that was why he'd lost his big love? Was she actually a gold digger all along?
I agree LAwoman they really succeeded in blurring the line and I didn't expect it.
Maybe these questions, these things that they left open are what give us this feeling.

Anyway there is one thing that really got my attention. How easily she played with his mind. That also helped me to sympathize with Jack. She could manipulate him so easily (in both her versions, the good and bad sister). :omg:
At the end of the movie I thought 'not always the devil is the cheater'.

Am I the only one who totally called that ending?? LOL The clues were obvious to me

I do think that it was a good Lifetime movie overall and I LOVED Ben's performance in it. I liked his much different than Sam Swarek character and I felt like I was in a completely different universe (cuz you know how with some actors you feel like they're put in the same thing over and over). He really is good at playing different characters that seem very real to me as a viewer. Sonya was pretty good in it too and I liked how she played the wife and the twin. And yes, Ben's wardrobe was excellent in suits and ties and even a few 3 piece suits (I have a weakness for them since I see so few men wear them).

I also got my best friend to want to watch it too :D

It looks like I'm the only one, but I just could not bring myself to respect Ben's character, Jack. I still loved the eye candy, and thought Ben's performance was excellent, but simply could not get beyond the fact that he effectively cheated on his wife with two different women and he celebrated getting shady characters off. I came away from watching this realizing that the obsessive crush I have had for the last four years is not on Ben Bass, it's on Sam Swarek.
No, you're not. I found Jack to be pretty thoroughly self-absorbed and shallow. I just thought they did a good job making me not COMPLETELY hate him and find no redeeming qualities. I could well have thought I hate both these people and I hope they kill each other by the end and good riddance. They managed to keep me just this side of that line and wondering just where the relative blame for how badly things unraveled actually belonged.

They did do a great job of making you think, of making you wonder how did this get so far south. While they made a good job of not making you completely hate him I guess they did a good job of not making me find enough to make me see him as redeemable. Certainly I don't find Linda/Kate redeemable either but the bottom line is if you get to the point of having a desire to cheat ... get out! ... rather than cheat. I think what pushed me over the edge of finding him unredeemable was that even up to the end he said he wanted to go back to his wife.
It also didn't help at all my judgement of his character that he became a stereotypical sleazy lawyer and attempted to justify it. The bottom line though is the fact that we're interested in discussing this after the fact is a tribute to all the people involved in making this TV movie.

I can't say for sure. The way it ended was all over twitter on sunday morning. Everything looks more obvious after that you know.

I loved Ben in a suit, but him in a white shirt was a Christmas present  . Come on, that color is perfect with his skin. I can't recover. Still prefer Sam's haircut, the only "flaw".

I would say it was pretty obvious. I haven't checked twitter in a while

I know, Mahtra! I actually didn't run into any spoilers before I watched it. Should I put this in spoiler tags since it's a live thread? I will anyways.

I think a good rule of thumb is to put any comments about the major twists in spoiler tags like you guys did, and then treat commenting on most everything else as fair game. Anyone who comes in here should be expecting to see mild spoilers. But this particular movie had some big things they tried to make a surprise, and it works better if you discover them at your own pace based only on what you're seeing.

I think I caught onto the biggest one about 20 minutes in, but not exactly the reason for it.
Spoiler: click to toggle

But there are also the surprises about exactly what's going on in the climactic last part. I only clued in where that was going a few minutes before it happened.

Gotta agree with you both completely. I fell in lev with Sam Swarek because of Ben Bass. He made that character what it is. I mean can you see anyone else as Sam? Heavens to mercatroids...no! Now I've seen Ben Bass on Monk & even on 21 Jump Street but those characters wasn't Sam! I love Ben Bass playing Sam which means I love Ben Bass. Sam's my favorite character & that's what got me hooked but in my world where bunnies play all day & kids eat their veggies? He's Sam 24/7. He has to pretend to be those other characters like in the good sister. I had to slap my hand because he the adulterer was making me just not see his bad ways. I had to put my glasses on because in that bed scene I kept blinking & it was Andy except the sister was Marlo that he was cheating on.....see better right? Remeber bunnies & veggies.....

Hope that helped someone besides me :giggle:

Finally got to watch the good sister, the first hour was pretty boring. Jack deserved all he got. Only the question I have as Linda her hair was lighter how did she do that?
Lyriq had a small role as the detective

I just saw it. I didn't expect that end. All the whole time, I was by Jack's side. Kate is sick and despite Jack's efforts, she remains cold. She made the perfect plan to trap him. He couldn't avoid it. Even if he had remained faithful, Kate would have killed him anyway.
Ben was good in this film. He passes through various psychological stages and it is not easy to play.
I have to admit that if Ben hadn't been in this film, I wouldn't have watched it.
I am a little sad. It's idiot but I was a little shocked to see Ben via Jack dying, dead and thrown in that hole. :fear:
