Ok, the way Ben repeatedly spoke of McSwarek as a Romeo and Juliet romance was not really reassuring. So no more swords, daggers or poison for Sam and Andy from now on.

If anyone can't get the Better Show website video to play, I uploaded it to youtube:

Sorry the sound is a little quiet and for my giggle at a couple parts :D And it's cut off in the beginning where he mentioned his sister watching RB and saying it was violent bc Sam got shot at the end of S4.

So thanks to vixenali I was able to see it too. :flower:
First of all this man looks so good and has a killer laugh.
Second he needs to stop to compare Sam and Andy to Romeo and Juliet. It's a tragedy, nothing I want for them. Please Ben!!! Let's find another analogy, a happy one! Thanks.
Last thing for the first time he looked so comfortable with the interview. I'm really happy about it.

I think the main reason he compares them to Romeo and Juliet is because those two lovers were always at cross-purposes. That means, they loved each other, but they could never "get it together" enough to be with each other. I agree that it isn't necessarily the best analogy, because hopefully Sam and Andy's story isn't a tragedy and doesn't end in both characters dying! However, I think I do get what he means by saying that. Plus, Ben is a Shakespeare actor, so it makes sense that he would always return to Shakespeare to explain himself!

Yeah, I get what he means, I agree with him and I love that he has such an high opinion of Mcswarek, it's just... you never know...
Didn't Shakespeare write anything with an happy ending? He can quote it. Not an expert sorry, in HS I had a difficult relationship with him... My teacher didn't look like Ben.

If you are looking for a Shakespeare story with a happy ending I'd say "Much ado about nothing". It's a story filled with misunderstandings and evil schemes to keep the lovers apart but in the end they find their way back to each other.

He did write happy endings. So it's definitely possible and honestly for a show like Rookie Blue it seems fitting to have a happy ending when it ends.

I sent my co-worker a link to Ben's interview and asked her how it was. She said it was good but she wishes he didn't talk about his wife or wear a wedding ring because Sam is supposed to be with Andy and she gets all confused!
