Yeah thats what I thought too, I know everyone is anxious but I think it's better they stick with summer for now...and Maybe season 3 try for fall
I don't think they will be ready to go with season 3 in the fall if they don't show season 2 until the summer unless they sign for season 3 before season 2 starts airing. Maybe a fall show will bomb so ABC will start Grey's earlier and then Rookie Blue can start as soon as Grey's is finished so we don't have to wait until the summer to see our favorite copppers from 15th.

I think you misunderstood but they can do that to!

My point was to start airing Grey's earlier in the year than January. When their season finished, Rookie Blue could start.

Ops sorry I thought you meant both airing the same night, I don't see ABC moving Grey's to earlier they had that spot for awhile now..my only hope is one of the new fall shows to fail miserably

Umm, Grey's is already slated to start again next week. It just has a long enough season that it will still have episodes continuing on beyond Christmas.

Sorry, don't watch it - but when they are done what takes the Thursday night slot? Possibly Rookie Blue?

These numbers are for the reruns on Showcase? If so, those are pretty phenomenal ratings!

Oh, not so good then. RB dropped below Flashpoint for the finale? It had been the highest rated Canadian show in 2 decades. How did that happen?

They fought for supremacy with Flashpoint back and forth all the time.

Hmm, I guess the way to reconcile the two things is that shows often take a while to build their audience. So you can be a total stand-out smash hit as a new show and still be neck and neck with an established show for number of viewers.

Exactly. Plus, a lot depends against whom you and your rival go on air.

It could also be that - correct me if I am wrong - Canada showed Rookie Blue earlier than the normal time slot for the finale. That could also contribute to the drop in viewers.

New article about RB's season performance for ABC;

TVByTheNumbers--ABC Airs 3 of The Week's Top 20 Entertainment Series

Quote:

Delivering strong year-to-year time-period improvement throughout its freshman season, “Rookie Blue” boosted its hour for ABC by huge margins over last year. On average during its run, “Rookie Blue” more than doubled its Thursday 9 o’clock time slot year to year in Total Viewers (+134% – 6.8 million vs. 2.9 million) and increased by 125% in Adults 18-49 (+125% – 1.8/5 vs. 0.8/2).

* “Rookie Blue” finished out its freshman season as the summer’s No. 1 new scripted series among Adults 18-49.

It looks like Rookie Blue can't compete with these shows. But if they bring it back in January for mid-season, than they'll be competing with the same shows they were competing with this year. Because all the current shows will be on break, but American idol comes back in January, that's the only new-season show I can think of at the moment.
LA Times had an article about all the new shows with kick ass female heroines, but also mentioned two shows possibly starting in the winter/spring that I hadn't heard about. I CANNOT believe ABC is thinking seriously about a Charile's Angels reboot. It's already been done recently in multiple movies for crying out loud!
Quote:

Mid-season is slated to bring the Jennifer Beals vehicle "Ride-Along" on Fox. The "Flashdance" actress stars as Chicago's first female police superintendent in the gritty Shawn Ryan-written drama. And the 1976-81 series "Charlie's Angels" may return to ABC next spring, reimagined by "Smallville" creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.

Guess I can cross Jennifer Beals off the list of possible actresses for Andy's mom too. :o

Awesome! So glad to have a DVD confirmed! But is it a bad sign for bloopers and deleted scenes that it says it's only going to be 1 disc??

On another upbeat note, I guess Rookie Blue is airing in a LOT more Asian markets than I realized. I had only heard about Malaysia. The official RB twitter account sent this out this morning:
Quote:

#RookieBlueTV launches in 21 countries in Asia tonight! Tune in. Let us know what you think!
