Awesome! So glad to have a DVD confirmed! But is it a bad sign for bloopers and deleted scenes that it says it's only going to be 1 disc??

On another upbeat note, I guess Rookie Blue is airing in a LOT more Asian markets than I realized. I had only heard about Malaysia. The official RB twitter account sent this out this morning:
Quote:

#RookieBlueTV launches in 21 countries in Asia tonight! Tune in. Let us know what you think!
These are preliminary data, so discs can be more than 1.

Also show is now all over Europe on Universal/Diva channel.

It looks like Rookie Blue can't compete with these shows. But if they bring it back in January for mid-season, than they'll be competing with the same shows they were competing with this year. Because all the current shows will be on break, but American idol comes back in January, that's the only new-season show I can think of at the moment.
LA Times had an article about all the new shows with kick ass female heroines, but also mentioned two shows possibly starting in the winter/spring that I hadn't heard about. I CANNOT believe ABC is thinking seriously about a Charile's Angels reboot. It's already been done recently in multiple movies for crying out loud!
Quote:

Mid-season is slated to bring the Jennifer Beals vehicle "Ride-Along" on Fox. The "Flashdance" actress stars as Chicago's first female police superintendent in the gritty Shawn Ryan-written drama. And the 1976-81 series "Charlie's Angels" may return to ABC next spring, reimagined by "Smallville" creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.

Guess I can cross Jennifer Beals off the list of possible actresses for Andy's mom too. :o
Charlie's Angels?.... Really? :yuk:

I know right? I wrote something on RB's ABC discussion board ripping that idea to shreds. They've got RB and it looks like Detroit 187 will also fly as a slightly grittier character-driven dramedy cop show. They should at all costs avoid investing in another cop show. All the nets are WAY overdoing the genre as it is this fall.

I don't think more than one network remake can survive with audiences, and it looks like Hawaii 5-0 will be it. Competing nets decided to shelve the Rockford Files remake for good reason when H50 started getting so much buzz. Whatever interest in bringing back Charlie's Angels there was has been totally exhausted with the two movies. Enough!

Well, it would be weird for the show having Jennifer Beals play Andy's mom. Seeing that Ben (Sam) has had sexy time with Jennifer in The Hunger. It would be really creepy to watch imo.

Glad to see the RB creative team getting some well-deserved recognition. Tassie's the bomb. She always has inspiring things to say in her interviews.

It's really shame that she doesn't get enough recognition for her work on "Would be kings". She's rock-&-roll that mini-series!

Definitely!! Although she did get a Gemini for it (or at least a nom, I forget if she won) and several cast members, including Ben, got noms as well. So that's pretty good recognition for that one.

Talking about Tassie's interviews, I just reread her interview about season 2 (the one where I think we had 13 pages of comments!) and noticed that she leaves out one of the training officers. Do we have any clue as to what is going on with Noelle Williams in season 2? Anyone on twitter care to ask her if she left out Noelle on purpose?

According to Noelle posts on twitter, she is pretty happy with what happens to her character in 2nd season and quite delighted.

I know she posted that but Tassie gave cryptic hints about most of the other characters and I want a cryptic hint about her as well!

I think fan and industry blogger @conallen may have an interview with Tassie lined up for her 10,000th tweet. Not confirmed, but I suggested it, and another fan she IMs with said it's gonna have something to do with Rookie Blue. So we may get a couple more nuggets soon.

Really stoked about the nominations! :cheer:

But chafed that Ben didn't get an acting nomination. :fail: I don't know if that's because those running the show chose to put up the rookies to emphasize the rookie ensemble hook for the show, or if some outside committee makes the decision. But I'm not thrilled either way. :baseballbat:

I think that's the case. Most likely producers were not expecting such a strong reaction to the character of Ben.

Did you not notice that Enuka was left off the list of nominations too. So not only is Ben snubbed by the panel. So was Enuka, Melanie, Matt and Eric. Sorry Lyriq and Noam your characters aren't as big as the rest.

Ben should have got a nod for Sam. Were the panel of judges blind to the fact that he is a main character not a supporting character.

Poor Ben and Enuka.
