I agree. Greg has great comedic timing, as does Matty. I really love the whole ensemble cast. They are all awesome!

Speaking of CasaDova's prospects with the ladies in season 2, Tassie just favorited this tweet of mine, so I guess she either wanted to keep the link to the article and/or is on board with Dov becoming a bit more of a real ladies' man instead of only in his own mind.

Just to be clear, I wasn't saying the I don't think the RB team has a strong vision. I was saying be careful what you wish for in terms of responsiveness to fan feedback because in general you can end up with a mess if that's taken too far.
That's very true. But giving promise only to break them - just as bad.
If you say nice things to audience to keep their attention, but do things you own way - be prepared to lose their confidence.
People are not stupid, they have already seen enough of excellent, mediocre and bad television to understand difference between them.
I think the writers know this - if you noticed, they are being VERY careful about what they say. The cast members are also extremely tight lipped about what happens in each episode.
Just to revisit this topic a bit, there was an interesting article on The Daily Beast about the pros and cons experienced by showrunnners interacting with fans on twitter.

Twitter's TV Wars

An excerpt:
Quote:

Recently, Bones creator/executive producer Hart Hanson, who has roughly 25,000 followers on the social media platform, issued a statement: he would only be interacting with the 300 or so people that he has chosen to follow, cutting himself off from the tide of impassioned fans who have aggressively criticized Bones storylines, sometimes personally attacking Hanson himself.

[...]
“While I’m delighted that fans of the show think of it as ‘their’ show, that delight doesn’t extend to any desire to listen to them tell me how I’m ruining ‘their’ show,” said Hanson. “The rude people—who are a minority but very vocal—are convinced that what they think about the show is what everybody thinks about the show and as a result they are furious when I don’t do what they want. It’s a kind of strange megalomania that becomes extremely wearing.”

“It's absolutely wonderful that we have managed to elicit that loyalty and that passion in our fans,” he continued. “But it's a double-edged sword… A TV show is not a democracy.”

Yes, very exponential article.
Authors do not like criticism, even in the mildest form, leaving alone the extreme and aggressive form.
They have a sacred right to do their job as they see it and interact with fans in a comfort zone. As much as fans are entitled to have opinions about their work and to express it.

Wow, interesting article. Thanks so much for sharing. I can definitely see their point of view, it must be hard to get so much criticism sometimes.

It's turned out that theme "authors vs. viewers" pretty interesting.

TV Guide have been running a Jumped The Shark column and here are the results.

Am so glad they included Bones and Castle these two shows especially Bones needs to get canceled its getting so boring...and the fact that RB writers admire the creators of Bones scares me... I remember how popular that show used to be because I was big a fan now I don't even know anyone that watches it.

Maybe if Bones gets canceled the RB writers will get the hint...

No kidding! I can't believe Bones is still around and Detroit 187 might get canceled after its first season with ABC.

If authors of RB feel the need to follow someone's example - and I don't understand why, they certainly great on their own - it would be better if it were "Sons of Anarchy". SoA have incredibly tight plot. In the romantic department, they are just dream come true, at least for now. Both leading romantic couple don't play cat and mouse, they're pretty much together and overcome many challenges. And audience just love them.

I know the writers are working hard to make sure S2 will be great,so I have faith in them and it will be worth the wait when the new season debuts this summer.

Nobody says that they didn't trying hard. Some of us are worried that as an example to follow they always mention "Bones". And it's really, really bad path to follow. I can hardly bear the thought that people would laugh and boo RB, as now they do it for "Bones" and other shows that overdone their specific aspects.

I hear you! ABC has some bad shows on right now, but Detroit 187 isn't one of them. They should cancel that one with Rob Morrow...

Actually, I think that one already has been canceled. Detroit 187 is just highly endangered. Sigh.

EXCLUSIVE: Melanie Nicholls-King Speaks on Success, Future of Rookie Blue.
Quote:

What can you tell us about season two?
We've filmed eight episodes so far. There's a new character played by Camille Sullivan who comes in and and makes an impact. Overall, storylines are edgier, grittier. They're really exploring how far they can take these characters, all of whom are are going to a deeper place.

Yeah, Melanie is THE BEST!! I'm glad to see another media voice interview her. She said she's interested in working over the hiatus this, spring. So I hope whatever media contacts her peeps set up help that along cuz I'd sure like to see her in other projects in addition to her kicking ass on RB!! By the way, I think you missed the headline when you chose what to excerpt from this interview. Here's what grabbed my attention as new news:
