Major newspaper interview with Missy in The Globe and Mail:

Missy Peregrym: A Rookie Graduates to Season 2

Here's a couple of questions. Click the link above for the full article.
Quote:

Your character Andy was put through the wringer last season. Is she tougher this season?

When you go through so many different traumatic experiences, you can't help but get a little bit hardened or seasoned. Honestly, my situations in Season 2 are very extreme. And they also advance Andy's relationships outside of police work; it's not all work-related.

Is playing a cop helping you grow as an actress?

I think I always have something to learn; I can always be better. Things go at such a fast pace when you're on set each day. You're constantly working on the next episode. But now I feel like I have an opinion on Andy's character and the dialogue. The storylines are so intense this year that it's becoming even more personal for me. I have to go a lot deeper to find what's realistic for the character and how she would behave. I am learning a ton.

Thank you for bringing interview.

I wonder what that means? They spend more time on Andy and Luke relationships?

"Rookie Blue & You" panel for the Academy of Film & TV: live from twitter.

Quote:

WGCtweet:

Okay so I'm early - at Academy breakfast to hear Tassie Cameron & Ilana Frank on Rookie Blue (dk)

Tassie Cameron says timing was right - American nets looking for the next Flashpoint-model show.

Tassie and Ilana - Rookie Blue under pressure. Felt if it didn't succeed, would be death of cross-border model.

Original writers of 'Copper' very open to what Tassie was trying to bring to the show.

ABC changed the series title to Rookie Blue. Had tested it.

Tassie - there's so much to learn from being on other people's shows - don't race to be a showrunner. Takes time and experience.

Tassie- use all the old tricks to drill down and find the show - up on the board, really interrogate the ideas and beat it out.

E1 - we have production - but preferred model is to work as distributor with creative producers and showrunners.

Ilana - the real work of developing a show actually happens after it's ordered. That's when you have the money and the impetus

Very cool! Thanks for finding this. Noelle Carbone just tweeted something about the event and looking forward to seeing video of it. So hopefully that will get posted at some point.

Rookie Blue - 'The Complete 1st Season' of the Hit New Cop Show is Coming to DVD
Coming from eOne Entertainment in time for the second season's summertime debut
Posted by David Lambert
11/10/2010

Shot in Canada and shown on Global TV there, while simultaneously airing on ABC in the United States, Rookie Blue stars Missy Peregrym (Heroes, Reaper), Ben Bass (The Eleventh Hour, Forever Knight), Enuka Okuma (Sue Thomas: F.B. Eye, 24), Charlotte Sullivan (M.V.P., Syfy's Alice), Gregory Smith (Everwood), and Travis Milne (My Green House). Here we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this show...it's a real treat: it's an addictive, can't-miss series that easily draws favorable comparisons to classic cop shows such as Adam-12 and Hill Street Blues.

The show was such a hit with the public this past summer, that it was renewed for a second season after just a few episodes had aired. That sophomore year of stories will begin airing in Summer 2011, and production company eOne Entertainment is preparing a DVD release of the first 13 episodes to tie in with the new season's debut. Rookie Blue - The Complete 1st Season, has been tentatively scheduled for DVD release on May 17th. Yes, that's far off, so please remember it could be subject to change. As could be the penciled-in price-tag of $22.98 SRP. It's a very long way away, so nothing else is finalized yet: not details, nor package art, nor whether we'll also perhaps see a Blu-ray version of Blue. Just consider this a heads-up for now, though, and we'll update you further as eOne makes progress. Stay tuned!

It makes a certain amount of sense, marketing-wise to be able to spend on both the DVD and season 2 at the same time, but that's a long wait!

It might be a long wait but this just made my night :spaz:

I'm just wondering...are they going to put more on the DVD's, such as deleted scenes, bloopers, etc. cuz I have all the episodes and that is what I really want to see.

Another article about Camille joining the cast:

Entertainment Gather

Quote:

Since season 1 introduced viewers to the characters and saw the rookies getting certified, hopefully season 2 will be more about the cases and the romance outside (and inside) the office. As long as it's as strong as its premiere season, it wouldn't be surprising to see the show bring in numbers that are just as strong as last summer's.

as long as the quadrangle won't last forever and as long as we'll get rid of Landy and get McSwarek instead...I am totally okay with more romance outside (and inside) the office :haha:

and still soooooo long till it RB comes back

In fact, they have. And they can't be changed.
But on home DVD player it's possibly to remove zone encoding.

I would love to see Anton Hill again...and Emily.

Just for the future, when you say Zoe, specify who you are referring to because there is Zoe Martinelli and Zoe Shaw (I'm assuming you meant Zoe Martinelli).

yes, I meant Zoe Martinelli of course, I hope none of the cases will involve Zoe Shaw! but I'd also love to see a glimpse of Ollie's family! :-)

So I don't know if anyone posted this article yet but it was on IMDB:

Lauren Holly's Role in Rooke Blue Revealed

Quote:

Actress Lauren Holly (Covert Affairs) will guest star in the second season of the Canadian TV series Rookie Blue as Elaine Peck, the Superintendent in charge of Operations at the Metropolitan Police Service who might become the first female Chief of police.

I just thought that this was interesting because it gives us a little more than "she's a white-shirt".
