We may have indeed. ![]() Lust at first sight (Technically 3rd or 4th in the second episode) is totally believable but professing love right away just doesn't jive with the character. She wouldn't spend the night at Luke's house and he was her 'safe choice'. I think her sleeping with Sam right off would be an interesting plot twist just to see how or if they could get over the inevitably awkward moments and the likelihood of it happening again without any kind of commitment while everything else is falling apart, but professing love? Eh, not so much. |

Well, not everyone is like us. In fact we might be in the minority, we might even be disliked for our love for the facts .As for early Andy and Sam hookup we might want to discuss this in separate thread. I honestly think that if they have done that, they might not end up as endgame. It would have been too awkward for them to work together and by trying to avoid the inevitable - that they slept together, the UST turns to just tension. I think that in this moment Sam was thinking like a man who was undercover and didn't have many possibilities to sleep with hot woman, so when the opportunity arose, he wouldn't mind to take his chances. And Andy was a rookie who was impressed by her well trained and experienced training officer. Yep, it was lust, definitely not love if someone ask me. Anyway the point was that in most cases it's highly impossible for two people to just see each other and decide that they will love each other for the rest of their lives. |

Just to add, since I know the whole "knowing the pregnancy too early" thing was mentioned - some people have an issue with the way children are written in the future fics. As a teacher, I can tell you that children develop at different rates. There is a little girl I know who was walking perfectly by 10 months (it was adorable to watch her) and another child didn't walk until he was over two years old. Therefore, I think people need to give a little leeway with development of walking, talking, etc. |

@Cythy you are right about kids. I started talking about 10 months old and I've never had any problems with talking, so I didn't have any strange words or something like that. The only problem I have with kids in fics is that sometimes they just act and think like older person. It's not always the problem, but sometimes those 4-5 years old children make comments and asks questions that only and adult would do.

I get what you mean by going too fast (but I semi did it in my fic, I certainly did it IRL )Anyway, yeah, about kids developing... As a trained teacher I know that every child sets it own pace... BUT, a new born doesn't smile when seeing it's parents for the first time. Because they can't see that clear yet, they recognise sound and smell, and they can't purposefully smile. I have seen it with TD2. Tweedle Dee was a quick developer, but beaten by her younger brother on every front. And my best friend's son, he's slow. It took me quite some time to convince her that there was/is nothing wrong with her kid. But yeah... Different story. Again And yes, even without having been pregnant... The basic stuff, you should just know! |

Ha. I don't fuss if it's within a reasonable range. A 4 month old working advanced calculus and writing the next great American novel I will take issue with but everything has a broad window. I babysat enough kids to not be surprised by much. |

. I'm the same - if I know that I won't depict something correctly, I won't attempt writing it at all. As for beta readers I use them, but we have strange policy. Since I post every week - I send her 4 chapters and she has a month to give me back the improved version of the chapters.
