Tikvarn's stories are perfection also Margie and mustlovecat are awesome wish they wrote more fics..

One thing am noticing lately is almost all the RB fics mention the age gap between Sam and Andy I think Tikvarn started it awhile back but she wrote it in cute teasing way but now all the authors make it seem like Sam is too old for Andy is uncomfortable to read at times.. Plus they never mention anything about their age gap in the show so it's out of character.

Glad you like the list - I'm still a little uncomfortable making recommendations, cause I don't want to upset anyone! Seriously, I am a fan fiction fanatic, and have read most of them. It's a great distraction during the long fall/winter/spring hiatus between RB seasons.

I found Tikvarn's take on Sarah in "Just for Tonight" and the current "Reluctant Acquaintances" interesting as she turns her into an absent character, still with a devastating impact on Sam & family. On the other hand, Margie311 in "The Distance" and its sequels portrays her as a strong, gritty, capable though conflicted survivor. Both are equally compelling, and soooo gooood! :D

I don't think you'd upset anyone, I mean taste is proper to each and every single one of us so you recommend what you like, I'd recommend what I like and X would recommend what X likes, no need to take it personal :)

Wow, thanks for the suggestions, Hawley! I'll definitely check some of those out.

Well, what I mean by sappy is the mushy ones that aren't just mostly angst (I'm not usually a fan of stories where the couple doesn't end up together in the end lol). Sometimes angst in general is good to read, but sometimes (especially if you need a pick me up or an escape), the romance (the I love you's, the kisses, the flirting, the cute date stuff, the double meaning talk) is what you're craving. Though I'm always craving romance. :p

Sorry, I guess I got a bit fixated on the 'sappy' part :D

I think most of the ones I listed end happily or hint at it! I'm not crazy about the ones that kill off one of the characters - but, again, that's 'personal taste.' :)

No you're fine. I'm glad you mentioned that because it never occurred to me some authors may take offense, it's good to know that.

Yeah I'm not crazy about those either. lol

Totally agree that both wrote awesome and interesting takes on Sarah. I liked both versions of her a lot.

Good (sigh of relief)! You were included among the writers currently posting stories and updates that I referred to in the preamble to my (incomplete, subject to change and constantly updated) list! :D

In 'killing off characters,' an exception is srsn's "Can't Let Go" - the temporary killing is o.k. so long as he's brought back to life - and the city - before the end! B)

whoa, gotta stop posting to this thread and go read the updates to fan fiction! :D

Thanks! You're the best!!

"Temporary killing" :haha: He was never dead, they just think he is;)

Been editing the last couple of chapters now and feeling like I need one more to make up for all the crying I've made people do. Should be time to whip one out since I'm posting one a day and there are 8 more left =)

"Temporary killing" as a 'plot' device to advance the 'plot', not end up in one? ("dig it"?) B)

Oops, too late, Sam already has (even if the coffin's empty)! BTW, love your new chapter, & the tears are on hold, for now :)

I've been noticing that as well. I try to keep it out of my stories because I feel that the age gap thing is ridiculous to harp on. Every once in a while for her to joke that he is old is one thing (I have seen a couple where the husband is a few months older than the wife and the months when he is 'a year old' she jokingly teases him about his age) but I think that within fanfiction it is getting a little ridiculous.

And as it has been mentioned, what you are looking for depends on your taste. As a writer on fanfiction I'm just going to add one thing - if you like something, many of us have 'anonymous reviews' enabled so you can drop a line (and those that don't, when I figure it out I try to send a private email to tell them to enable it) - it really means something to the writer when you just let them know that you liked their work and you never know - I've had some really bad days and one comment from a reviewer has totally changed my day around.

Uh Oh. I have brought up the age thing a few times in Just Say Yes... but only as Andy teasing him, not as a serious issue or concern...

Also, I reluctantly had to turn off anon reviewing because I was getting semi-spammy reviews. They were under different names, but I was convinced they were the same person because they all said the same thing. eg. 'sex scene please', 'M-rated next chapter?' etc and came through just minutes after one another.

Crap. You got me again. Thinking you updated. lol

Don't worry marap, you did it the right way....using teasing to go about it.

Ignore those reviews. I like your story the way that it is. You leave enough to the imagination while still describing so many touches and kisses...I just love it. Don't change it.
