This story reminds me of something I've been meaning to ask. Dozens of authors mention pancakes in their stories, most of the time involving some sort of delay between cooking and eating them. So I'm wondering if I'm the weird one who would ONLY eat pancakes hot off the gridle? To me, pancakes are fantastic that way, but disgusting if they've gone cold. And I would never, ever reheat pancakes. I'm wondering if I'm just spoiled in that growing up my mom makes them a few at a time so each person can eat a hot pancake at a time, then we switch so she can eat. Maybe most people aren't so picky?

@LAwoman I'm like you :). I eat the pancakes that way. I guess it depends on the person. Or maybe the idea is that the characters had really something more important to do than eat pancakes. |

I'm the same way! I need my pancakes hot and never reheated. But I know a couple guys (who would eat anything put in front of them lol) who eat leftover pancakes the next day. I'm thinking they're in the minority though....or I'm just picky. :) |

This conversation is totally cracking me up! Some people I think use the delay between cooking and eating to show the "tension" between Sam and Andy - how they can't get enough of each other and something you would normally eat hot, they are willing to push aside for the sake of each other. Second, I think you have to look at Andy's past. For her, reheating pancakes might be "normal". Her father was an alcoholic which means she had to fend for herself. It is easier to make a lot of pancakes and reheat them than to pull out (and wash) the griddle every day (just speaking from my own laziness about other things). Reheated pancakes might not taste as good but they would still serve the purpose of a warm meal before a day of school. But I agree with everyone else - straight off the griddle is the best way to eat them (I had reheated pancakes once when I was away from home and I was really hungry but they tasted gross). |

She's also posted it on fanfiction.net under the pen name BabyBrown (M rated, of course!) These fan fic authors aren't taking any chances, so posting on more than one site - that's good for all of us readers! Spoiler: click to toggle |

Cythy, I just had to ask because making pancakes well ahead of when they'd be eaten showed up in SO many stories, I was starting to think it was actually a normal thing.
