Rookie Blue returned for its third season with a new officer, an old case and our dynamic duo on the outs as Andy jumped into the "The First Day of the Rest of Your Life."

This season of Rookie Blue picked up three months after last season and gave us a guest appearance from Captain Kirk himself in the aptly titled episode, “The First Day of the Rest of Your Life.” For Andy, that first day meant her first day back on the job after her suspension, a return she celebrated by skydiving. Something tells me she hasn’t completely changed after 12 weeks off.

First review of 302 from TVFanatic:

Rookie Blue Review: We Can't All Be Poster Boys

Love this:
Quote:

Andy was really playing the girl card as she got insecure about Sam taking off to meet up with Jerry. Was she seriously pushing for them to move in together already? It certainly felt like it.

I loved when Sam deflected her serious relationship conversation with the mention of yoga class. I just can't picture Sam doing yoga. Then again, I might like to picture Sam doing yoga.

Sam brought Andy back to reality when in this Rookie Blue quote he explained where his head was at…

I think you were ready to marry someone else six months ago

And another from Allison at The Examiner:

Rookie Blue Goes on a Scavenger Hunt

Thanks LAwoman, loved that first article, what you mentioned but also the part with Dov:

Still, I felt for Dov. He tries so hard but can't quite get it right and thinking about Dov on the SWAT team is a little scary.
Totally my thoughts on him!

While there has long been a stigma in Canada that our own homegrown shows are far less superior to the offerings of our American counterparts, there is an onslaught of Canadian programming at this very moment that would prove otherwise. Flashpoint, Republic of Doyle, Lost Girl and Todd and the Book of Pure Evil are proving that Canadians know a thing or two about making great television shows.

Perhaps one of our very best offerings is the hit summer series, Rookie Blue, which launched its third season last week on both CTV and ABC with its highest-rated telecast in nearly two years. With a talented and nearly all-Canadian cast and crew, Rookie Blue follows the lives of a group of young officers in the fictional Toronto-based 15 Division as they struggle with the pressures of their professional and personal lives, often finding the line between the two becoming blurred.

Excerpt:
Quote:

Andy and Swarek don’t know what to expect from each other, something that seemingly scares her much more so than it does him. Swarek can make all of his jokes about going to yoga, but his pointed comment about Andy being engaged just a short six months ago was telling. Without the context of her relationship history, I wouldn’t necessarily think she was pushing things too fast. But Swarek hasn’t forgotten Luke even if Andy wants to. I still have faith in their relationship lasting the forty years he jested about, but only if these two are able to find a way to communicate better.

First recap/review of ep 303 is up already. This woman is clearly not a big Nick fan.

I guess she has a problem with him cuz he comes off as just flirty with Gail but they haven't yet established a true "cop" persona for him. But still kinda harsh comments.

Yeah I think it's too early on to be so agressive towards him. But I agree with the lack of Andy and Dov talking about dealing with killing someone. Such a scene would be beyond epic, with those two amazing actors!

Maybe she needs to see them in bed to be convinced? Their makeout sessions was enough to convince me at least

:haha: True! But until Gail's reaction at his sight we just knew he was a hot new rookie, not what he'd have to do with her^^

I like him and Gail but I wouldn't say I'm 1000000% gung ho about them. I get more out reading their fanfic situations I think. But, I also don't like change and new things so I think I'm still adjusting to nick.

Hahaha I LIKE THEM! I'm just not attached to them yet. I was a little more attached to Chris and Gail last season.

Dov gets himself into quite a bit of trouble when he goes on a licorice run. He interrupts a robbery and shoots the robber, but then there is the problem of the cops not being able to find a gun. This episode mainly follows the investigation into Dov’s shooting. It is nice that the writers take the time to show everything, such as Dov and Chris being interrogated by SIU as well as the others processing the scene. However, it would have been better if this was the only focus of 15 Division. There is this basketball game storyline that mainly serves the purpose of getting Frank out of the precinct and back onto the streets. While it is great to see him out and back in uniform, the writers could have put that storyline in another episode. What did you think of Dov’s ordeal?

I agree. If it were just Dov's story it would be more than enough. I'm not hating, liked the basketball game and how they wrote it, but it's just didn't fit the episode I guess..
