I think the fact that it's "out of character" for Chris is sort of the entire point. I mean, he didn't really gain anything by being the "nice guy", and maybe he's just trying something new. He's young, he's not tied down, there's no reason why he shouldn't go out and meet some women, and have a good time. I mean, if you think about it, he's had two pretty serious girlfriends in like...what, 7 years or something like that? That's a long time. And while all his friends were going out and dating, etc, he was in a very serious relationship with Denise, and then he and Gail had their thing. I personally thinks he deserves a little time to go out and be stupid or act out, whatever.

As far as him being snotty to Gail, I'm reasonably sure that that was the hurt talking. I thought it was pretty clear that he was showing a little interest in her, and her asking about their past together, things that happened in their relationship, it seemed a little like she was opening that door...and then he walked out and pretty much found it slammed closed in the blink of an eye.

Something tells me, Gail will get over it.

I also felt like the guns storyline was made into such a small deal it's impossible... It seemed big and in the end it almost just seemed a way for us to learn that Jerry had cheated...
Yes! Something like the gun thing wouldn't just go away like that. There is a reason that there is all the paperwork and stuff. IRL Jerry could easily lose his job over something like that and it just vanished.

Not necessarily lose his job - just be watched more closely. After all, he did document and they were able to figure out what happened - who knows how many more cases Nancy screwed up.

Yeah. It won't be as severe as a detective being dirty, but I wonder if defense attorneys could somehow use it to call into question her handling of evidence in a bunch of other cases.

He documented things yes, but he still had to be able to prove he wasn't there to witness the guns being destroyed... And given that he was with a mistress, this could've be proven harder than he thought... And if he couldn't prove he wasn't there, he should have been blamed and not Nancy.

I was actually quite entertained by the way Diaz was acting in 3x05. I mean, Gail was basically throwing hints at him about their past relationship the entire day, even if she didn't realize it, but I'm sure she did because its gail we're talking about here. Chris had a full days worth of comments to think about and then when he finally decides to bring it up to her he hears about a past engagement with the new rookie. Not only does he realize she is not interested anymore, but he finds out she is hanging out with her ex-fiance that he knew nothing about. I think his reaction was very spot on because I would have said something along the same line (I guess you can call me childish for that, but I think it was deserved).

I like the new character that is becoming Diaz. I don't think being the 'player' suits him, but I think its just a phase. He is better off being solo anyways. I like him better as a character when he is not trying to win someone's love.

Also, that 'melons/fruit' convo in the car with Andy was absolutely hilarious and one of my favorite scenes he is in :) He is just adorable.

One more thing, I agree with Gail being able to get over his remarks. What kind of person would she be if she could give everybody attitude but couldn't take any harsh words being thrown back at her?

First review of tonight's awesome episode is up, by Alison at The Examiner

Excerpt:

First off, this is a fantastic Oliver episode. He has always been someone who looks out for our favorite rookies, as do other training officers, but in this episode, viewers get to see him as a dad to his daughter Izzy. Previous episodes have hinted at the fact that things are not going well between Oliver and his wife Zoe, but Izzy has not been mentioned until now. Anytime outside family gets brought into the mix, it helps to humanize the show by showing life outside of the precinct. That being said, it would’ve been nice to have more details about Izzy.

Great review!! Loved this part, especially the Gemini-worthy performance comment:

Quote:

The real star of the night was Shaw, with his long overdue backstory. When he finally found out where his daughter’s boyfriend lived, he did what any furious father would do and tracked down the kid, Andy and Sam hot on his tail. The culminating scene, the most intense one of the season, had Shaw pull a gun on the kid while talking through his decision on whether or not to shoot him. Even though I had a feeling network television wouldn’t go there, Gordon had me convinced that Shaw might actually do it with his Gemini-worthy performance.

In the end, it was Izzy’s voice that talked sense into her dad, and they went home as an almost happy family. It’s unclear if the problems with Shaw and his wife will be fixed, but when she invited him in, it certainly felt as though they were at least ready to have a conversation about it.

I wasn't a big fan of Claire's to begin with but I liked her even less when she interrupted the food fight between Sam and Andy. That had the potential to be an epic battle and Sam looked ridiculously cute covered in flour. I couldn't wait to see where that scene went next... and then Claire showed up and ended the fun before it had barely begun.

*LOL* to be fair, I'm reasonably sure Claire didn't have a set of binocs pointed at Andy's window waiting for the most inconvenient time to knock on the door.

How can you go wrong when an episode of Rookie Blue begins with a well-sated looking Andy rolling over in bed and muttering "Holy Moly" to a smugly grinning Sam? I don't think I could have asked for a better way to start "Leap of Faith."

Gail: Carpe diem, seize the day, there's no time like the present, a stitch in time saves nine.
Dov: What does that mean?
Gail: I don't know something about sewing.

Sam: I'd be surprised big chicken coming at me

Rookie Blue – Enjoy your anniversary shiv
by Ivey West
'Rookie Blue' serves up a psych to help the 15th track down a missing witness. In other news, Epstein is being a complete idiot.

But their personal relationship is where the real fun is. McNally’s dropping of the three words, the complete joy she exploded with and the whole not-needing of a response? She’s a pretty awesome lady.

One of the best moments, if not the best moment, about Gail’s undercover assignment is her training from Noelle. In fact, the knowledge that Noelle was a kick ass undercover call girl is just awesome. Due to her pregnancy, Noelle has been sitting on the sidelines for most of the episodes, but not tonight. It is great to see Noelle interacting with her fellow officers for more than just the daily assignment. She is fantastic, and has great chemistry with everyone, including Oliver who she “seduces” in order to show Gail how to act on her date. Has anyone else missed Noelle?

This episode did a great job of building the suspense as we waited for the attacker to make his move. They even made me wonder if Andy was in danger when she decided to walk home alone. In the end, her only worry was whether Sam would understand that she wanted to head back to her place.

Do her a favor, and go comment there.

"Rookie Blue' tackles another tough storyline as one of the members of 15 Division gets assaulted. But you'll have to wait two weeks until we find out what happens."
