So if someone quotes 5 people, but you want to reply to just that one person who quoted those 5 people, how do you do that without including all those quotes? I hope that made sense...

Thanks for asking because all the quoting of really long nested quotes has been driving me kind of nuts today. :ermm:

What you need to do is go into the box where the quotes are and delete all but the part you want to respond to before posting.

It's driving me batty too!!

Ok I'll try, but for some reason I thought I had done that and it didn't work.

I'm going to test something out...

Ok I get it, but then the name of the poster is gone. I promise I'm actually really good at html code but I can't figure this out.
Test Again

LOL Did you see what I just did there? I'm very sorry to clutter the board with this. I'm just trying to figure it out.

What I do, is just go in and delete everything AFTER the first quote tag, up until the last post. That should keep the name and the post together.

Another way is to just copy the text you want to quote, hit the quote button and paste in between the tags.

[qu0te] [/qu0te] (just use 'o' instead of my '0')

Quote:

And if you want to quote a person:
[qu0te=membername] [/qu0te] (just use 'o' instead of my '0')

*LOL* so have I. But it's been a few years. I'm not THAT rusty, but it's still easier to highlight and delete.

A bigger peeve of mine is the people who don't know how to multi-quote, so they end up posting 5-8 times in a row. It's not a huge thing, but man would scrolling through be a lot easier.

*ahem* I don't know how. However, I only ever post twice if I absolutely need to respond to two people LOL

I wasnt talking about you :D

Actually I should amend this. If people don't know how, that's not their fault. When they DO know, it's a different story.

Even if you don't know how to multi quote (I don't. Lol) you could respond to other post by just writing their name in a new post and your reply.

Example;

Margie - asdfgkfhd
LAwoman - ldjdyshhs

:)

Because when people join the board they don't realize that there is a way to multiquote - (for those of you who don't know) at the bottom of each post next to the "quote" button is a box and if you check the box and check all of the other boxes of people you want to quote, it will allow you to multiquote - just select "quote" at the end of the last post you checked (I'll try to do screenshots later)
