One last question. What kind of authority does the OPP have in Toronto? Do they just police smaller communities that don't have their own police force? That's the impression I get. I've done some research myself, but everyone on here seems so knowledgable that I thought I'd pick your brains. Thanks |

The OPP patrols the 400 highways. They have no authority over Toronto. The Toronto Police would deal with that. A friend of mine was stopped by an OPP officer off of a highway for speeding and was told that he couldn't issue her a ticket because he was OPP but gave her a warning, telling her to slow down. (I don't think he was using radar, just that he was driving in the area and saw how fast she was driving) The OPP will also police in remote areas of Ontario where there isn't a municipal police force. Most (if not all) major cities in the Toronto area have their own police force (ie. York Region, Peel Region, Durham, Hamilton, etc.). In the case of say the G20, OPP officers could be called in to assist in terms of numbers. But generally the two don't mix unless there's a crime that spans into remote jurisdictions. And...a quick question from me. What would be the busiest street traffic wise in div51..or thereabouts? And is there a particular day/time of the week it would be at its peak (for whatever reason)? Thanks gang! :) |

Here's my response: Hard to pick one street, 'cause 51 division is one of the busiest in TO for traffic Part of the Gardiner Expressway and (under it) Lake Shore Boulevard East carry large traffic volumes through the south end of the area near Lake Ontario, particularly during morning and evening rush hours (it's often shown in the aerials on RB). For streets inside the division, Queen Street East and Bloor Street East (the north boundary of the division) are the busiest of the east/west streets and carry traffic to the most heavily travelled bridges across the Don River There are also a bunch of busy north/south streets (Yonge, the west boundary of 51 Division, plus Church, Jarvis, Sherbourne and Parliament), with Jarvis being the busiest 'cause it carries traffic onto Mount Pleasant Road that leads to the north part of the city. I concur with Tim Horton's for coffee: it's a made-in-Canada chain. Other than Starbucks, Second Cup, Timothy's & Coffeetime are also popular. |

Definitely Tim Horton's. I'd argue Tim's is more popular than Starbucks. And cheaper. |

So my friend Wendy is writing a McSwarek fic and she's OCD about details! Do we know where about Tommy lives in s3 and its approximate location to 15 Division (51 Division)? |

Don't think they name where Tommy's place is, but Ep 3.5 was filmed at a house in Long Branch, which is one of the waterfront communities (Lake Ontario) in Etobicoke at the west end of Toronto Long Branch is in 22 Division; the exterior of RB's 15 Division is in real-life 51 Division - you can see the distance between the two in the attached: http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/divisions/map.php |

December 25th! Some people put up trees after or around Hallowe'en (Oct 31!!), & Xmas decorations (& music ) in the stores beginning of November*Personally, I put up my (sadly fake) tree at the start of December, but it's a very personal choice - sure others will weigh in on this one! * I love Xmas music, but not until December...
