Just linking this up here from Chuck's FB page.

Ben Bass will be a guest on the Marie Osmond Show on the Hallmark Channel next Tuesday, November 27th at 11am Eastern.

PRESS RELEASE

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 27 [OAD 11/27/2012] – Marie Osmond welcomes Jim O’Heir who plays Jerry, the deputy director of Pawnee Indiana in the hilarious “Parks and Recreation.” Jim talks about what it’s like working with fellow comedic castmates like Amy Poehler and shares some of his funniest fan encounters. Celebrity Chef Devin Alexander, author of Fast Food Fix knows you don’t have to compromise the taste of your guilty pleasures. Devin shows Marie how to make fast food favorites with a healthy spin, including alternatives for a Big Mac and even Cinnabon cinnamon rolls. Next, heartthrob and star of the ABC show “Rookie Blue,” Ben Bass stops by to chat about the special training he received to play police officer Sam Swarek. Lastly, Heidi Newfield, former lead singer of the popular country band Trick Pony, talks about why she left the group to pursue her solo career. Heidi ends the show with a riveting performance of her new single.

*It's only in the US but Chuck will be posting a copy of the interview later on.

I've already set my cable up to record this while I'm at work. I love that he is doing a tv interview but don't really know what he is there to promote since the show is on hiatus. Odd timing. Also can't seem to find out where the show tapes. Wonder if he is gonna have a day or so off.

The timing is a little weird, especially for a talk show, not an entertainment show like E! or something sending someone to the set to do some interviews to have in the can for use closer to when the season starts. But I'm just glad either the show or his new management is pushing to book things for him.

Since the former Hallmark Channel overseas became DIVA Universal, which is the network that airs Rookie Blue in a lot of countries, I wonder if the Hallmark Channel in the U.S. is interested in bidding on syndication rights for Rookie Blue reruns? Normally deals don't get done until quite a few more episodes are in the can than they have right now. But it could be possible and that's the reason they're interested in raising Ben's profile with Marie Osmond's audience. Just speculating a little bit.

I think it's super random to be promoting the show while it's not even close to airing (and actually like... 6 months off from airing?) but I'm not complaining that he's going on it.

Chuck said he thinks the Marie show is just looking for guests who are being overlooked on other shows. Which could just be PR speak for she can't get big "gets" on such an obscure channel until she proves that she has some ratings traction.

I think there's no reason to promote a show that will be airing only next May (???). Maybe Hallmark is interested in showing RB reruns, like LAwoman pointed out. Maybe ...

As much as I want RB reruns in the U.S., I can't see Hallmark being the channel. I really hope USA picks it up at some point (would be awesome to have RB marathons), they picked up CSI even though they're on CBS and not NBC. I could never see Hallmark airing eps like 2x11, etc. I can't remember seeing any love scenes to that extent in the movies they show, but then again, I haven't seen all of the movies or shows they have aired. I do wonder if ION will ever pick it up since they show Flashpoint.....is ION out of Canada? I'm not even sure, but I'm asking because I think I've seen other Canadian programming on it before.

I'd much rather see the reruns end up on a cable channel with broader viewership too. USA, TNT, TBS, or ION would all be fine by me as an eventual home for RB reruns.

ETA: ION used to be PaxTV. It was founded by Bud Paxon, a born again Cristian guy, and was originally aimed at providing family programming, similar to Hallmark, but with a less female skew. But in 2008, they rebooted to aim for younger viewers: "the network re-tooled its focus, emphasizing the 18–49 demographic and airing various, newer programming attracting a younger audience, such as Boston Legal, NCIS and Criminal Minds."

Hallmark tweeted a yummy PR still and Chuck tweeted a couple ad promo clips for today's show. In the second clip, Ben gets down on his knees in front of Marie. Demoing Sam begging forgiveness or proposing?? Pr maybe she asked him to do some Shakespeare again and he went for Romeo and Juliet this time?

that still is fabulous and so was the interview.

What he intended to do for the proposal was really sweet and then it turned into sweet but hilarious!

Chuck already has the video up! Turns out he was re-enacting his real proposal to Laura. And the story is hilarious and adorable. He brought Marie a gift that proves he used to watch the Donnie & Marie show too. (though I didn't get it, she did) He is perfect!!
