I thought this tweet from Ben was also very interesting: Elissa @LissaM_13 @BenBassOfficial hey Ben. The last season & a half has been very heavy do you think we will get back to the lightheartedness in S5? Ben Bass @BenBassOfficial @LissaM_13 it has been heavy, hasn't it. this is a good question. i don't know. have you tweeted tassie your point? It's interesting that Ben "encourages" us to let Tassie know how we feel about this season. Sincerely and respectfully of course. IMO it's really important that we do. Somehow a lot of people believe that only if you compliment ALL aspects of the show do you prove yourself a "real" Rookie Blue fan. |

That's exactly my moot Point when Ben tweets. I don't think he tries to trick us into believing anything or mislead us, BUT since he hasn't seen this season ir at least not all of it, I have to wonder if he remembers scenes that didn't make in into the finale episode. Especially in relation to M/Sam and where they are or what we actually got to see. Or maybe just a scene about M that didn't make it, that would explain everything Ben says. I mean the part about him asking what the asking person would do if he/she were in Sam's position. Given everything we've seen I don't think there can be a really emotional connection between those two, so why would Sam be so adamant to stay with her and not make it clear that it's just as a friend? Taking into consideration that he's still supposedly into Andy. |

I think this is really important and I'm glad Ben suggested it. Tassie win't reply to everyone, but I do believe she reads all, or most, of the tweets sent to her. It's important to respectful tell her what we liked/didn't like this season and what we want to see next season. Especially right now as she is in the beginning stages of planning S5. On another note, Ben's tweets last night only scared me more about the finale. I feel even less that we get anything good in this finale for Sam/Andy. |

Thank you so much for trying Hookedonrb So Ben pretty much says Sam/Marlo is done? But I thought that scene at the start of episode 4.12 showed that Sam still is trying with Marlo or is that just me being a pessimist? |

I think he was just trying to be nice. Offer her a ride. Assure her nobody knows. Give her someone to talk to. But none of that really was bf material really? The kiss on the cheek? No hug? |

Absolutely with you on that. I myself try to do that and I see a few other fans doing the same thing, tweeting Tassie their opinions respectfully, but I think it could be many, many more of us considering how important the show is to us. I really don't know about the finale...I think ABC and Global revealed way too much via the promos they shouldn't have. Among other scenes I think they've already shown us the most pivotal McSwarek scene of the season (Sam and Andy in the ambulance) setting us up to expect more scenes between them than we'll probably get. ps: Thank God for Ben Bass! |

I am Twitter ignorant, but I'm definitely up for communicating with Tassie in a respectful way. How in the world do I get my point across in those limited number of characters? I believe cabooklover sent me a link once before about Twitter, but I just gave up trying to figure out how to do an extended post. For those of you planning to tweet Tassie about impressions of Season 4, are you going to limit it to the customary character limit imposed by Twitter. I noticed that Noelle Carbone's tweet to the McSwarek fans who've been particularly critical of the season was a rather long post. Do you think Tassie would welcome something that length from a fan? |

Sometimes I just wish she would come on here and read our posts. That way she would REALLY know how we feel. Be much easier then cramming it all in on twitter. |

You need to use the part that appears before the link to twitlonger or whatever app you use for longer tweets interesting enough. I've sent at least two lengthy twitlonger messages to Tassie that I know she read because she tweeted a reaction back. One was a crazy dream sequence idea and the other was extensive praise about the gun-to-the-head scene that also asked Peter how stoked he was when he first read the script. I had a long history of tweeting things she found worth reading since I've been part of the live tweets since about ep 103. But I think anything that suggests you have some interesting reaction/insight to share has at least a decent chance of being read. I think she and some of the other writers are mostly avoiding "you suck" venting. Or messages that simply state anger and Sam and Andy not being together yet. The latter mostly because they already know there's a big group who feel that way. |

LAwoman, I think the question is, would he read anything that stated that they didn't agree with how the show was going or was disappointed. Have you ever written anything critical to her? |

I've tweeted that I threw up in my mouth during Landy nookie. I threw a massive hissy fit about the season 1 finale where Andy saw Sam almost die...and all of a sudden lost all her doubts about moving in with Luke. I told her way to make me hate both Andy and Nick and the end of s3. So, yeah. I'm not like Chuck on twitter by any means. She follows me, so theoretically, she also could have seen a LOT of critical tweets I've made to other fans that weren't directed to her. But she "got to know me" before the hugely controversial story lines came along that increased the volume of venting tweets dramatically. So, that's not exactly something fans can replicate at this point. All of that is sort of irrelevant in a way though. I think in the present, the main thing is to seem like you have an interesting spin on your critique in the first 100 characters or so. (some of the 140 characters that will show on twitter gets taken up with the twitlonger link) |

Well that is good to hear b/c I tend to not even make the effort to contact any of them b/c I get the feeling they only want to hear from people who are thrilled with where they are taking the show. Don't get me wrong, I love RB and will watch it (I think) next year but I really am done with the Nick stuff. Yes Andy & Sam need to grow. But IMO they also need to grow TOGETHER not always with someone else. That has gotten very old this season. |

He Bluesgirl :) if you already have a twitter account and you're using your computer you can just google "twitlonger" and sign in there with your twitter account. Then you write your tweet right there and post it and it'll appear in your timeline like any other regular tweet. Yesterday I saw a few of us tweeting her really sincere and respectful tweets that were lovely to read...of course there was the occasional N/A fan there in between but what can you do ;) I'm kidding. Everyone has the right to express how they feel about the show, as long as its polite, like we've said. Actually, I have to say that I'm rather surprised at how unaccepting of differing opinions the Rookie Blue fandom is...even within the McSwarek camp. I've only ever been part of one other fandom and there people were very welcoming and anyone who argued his/her point in a friendly manner was part of the group, even if not everyone agreed. Last night I read a few posts on tumblr and other times on twitter calling other McSwarek fans by names (and I don't just meean "idiots") because they perceive of the story differently...very sad really. Sorry for posting that here, I just feel that being part of the fandom when you love a show can be a great experience and make you feel part of a family OR it can really get you down. Which it shouldn't. |

Yes, it appeared to be something like that. But it needs to be said that they're over in a romantic way. If that's what this scene was supposed to bring to the table, I think it could be a prime example of subtext not being that successful. I mean I saw that M wanted to be a alone. I mean she already had the emotional distance, so the "space" that was talked about by Sam can only mean real space in the physical sense. I thought that was the Point of M gping to her sister's. But at the same time the whole deal with Sam being there while M doesn't appear to want him there, but her not saying it could be that both of them want to be together. They just don't know how to make that happen with M's illness now being in the open. So that scene was totally confusing to me: What was the purpose and what did it mean? Did they just want to Show those two in a private setting where they're definitely not in tune?
That's what I wonder too. Why did Andy and Sam both Need different relationships to grow that just seem to take place at the time they did? I mean Nick/Andy seem to have gotten more serious/ seem to happen when it became clear that Sam wasn't happy with his relationship with M. Of course the stuff with M were long ago visible on a subcontext level, but the moment Sam has the reveal about McSwarek babies Andy's getting it on with Nick? That's just too fitting with keeping Sam/Andy apart. |

I think the subtext was pretty clear when Marlo tells Sam she knew he'd want to give her a ride - which is why she called a cab. She was acknowledging his overtures but also making it clear she knew they came from a place of sympathy and pity and she wasn't going to let him go there.

Ya I agree, she was pushing him away for two reasons, 1) she needed to get herself better and 2)she didn't want him to stay with her out of pity or some knight complex...which we all know Sam's got a bit of. |

I have to admit I never actually invested a lot of though to look at it from M's perspective. But you could both be right. But now that I thought about it I came up with another thought: M could try to not be too dependent on Sam, even in a friendly way, because she may think that once they're really over he won't stay and she doesn't want to be/ get used to Sam being there when him being there might change. But thinking about all the growth Sam was to have this season up until ep 4x12 communicating didn't seem to have changed that much. I mean it's clear that both, Sam and M, aren't happy with the Situation but they don't talk about the meaningful things... |
