So anyone here into footie? I support Aston Villa. I was most upset when I saw Jd Blair wearing a Birmingham City shirt on her last tour  |

I really feel like life will dictate itself. You should allow it to unfold as naturally as possible. Just go with the flow. When you're really desperate, you say a few prayers and hope for the best. That's the way I've always lived my life. Shania Twain | |

Some people will wear anything, it would have been better just to wear an England shirt.

I'll say 1 thing about Aston Villa, they are the best team in Birmingham! On a more sensible note, they have got a first class stadium, are fairly well supported, have a good manager, some promising young players. All they have to do now is be successful, which is easier said than done when the more glamorous clubs [with more money], i.e. Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, seem to win all the trophies. <_< |

I think that description is pretty fair. I do consider our support to be better then what you said however.
I think our current success is based on young ,hungry and pacey players. It will be interesting to see if opposing sides cotton onto countering it.

How high do you rate Martin O'Neil as a manager ?

I rate Martin O' Neil highly as a motivator and getting the best out of average players. However his signings so far at Villa leave alot to be desired. I think Carew in particular looks a big mistake. I think we should try and get Crouch back and stick him in at centre forward. I'm going to be away for a couple of weeks and will try to post when I return. |

A good win for the England football team yesterday, the 3-0 win over Estonia boosts their chances of qualifing for the European Championship. This week however they have a tough game in Russia, who are also battling to qualify. I see in the papers that Mclaren wants to go for the win. I'd be satisfied with a draw.

Russia v England on Wednesday looks interesting, sub-zero temperatures, plastic pitch. I think McClaren will keep the same team as last Saturday. Lets hope they get a good result.

A 2-1 defeat at the hands of Russia makes Englands chances of qualifing for the European Championships very slim. They have to rely on results elsewhere to get in. |

What happened to the Villa tonight? Were they poor or were Utd too strong?

I see the Annual manager merry -go-round has started, Megson, Jol, Lee, etc. They leave 1 club and 5 minutes later they join another. Who in their right mind would want to employ an unsuccessful manager?

I see it's FA Cup time again, a chance for the smaller clubs in the football pyramid to have a bit of glory. There's no other football tournament like it in the world. All the so called bigger teams hope they don't get humbled, and the minnows hope for a bit of glory and a lot of cash, to keep their club solvent. Good like to all the teams in the competition, especially the underdogs.
