IRC SET UP GUIDE © Rashy There are numerous programs that you may use to access IRC, the most popular being:
mIRC SET UP To download mIRC, click here. mIRC offers a trial version for download. This trial version, unlike many others, used to not end after 30 days. However, the timer does work now and you will simply need to add a line of code to your 'perform' to reset the timer upon connection. Setting up mIRC Once you have downloaded and installed mIRC, follow these steps:
Setting up Highlights (mIRC) Highlights are important to grab your attention: it will alert you whenever someone uses your nickname. To set up highlights, follow the following instructions: Tools -> Address book -> Highlights tab. Click on Add, then fill out the window, and hit OK. Make sure "Flash message" is checked. "Highlight lines that contain these words" is where any word you want to get notified on use. You can type in your nickname here. Change Match on: to "Both". --- MIBBIT SET UP Mibbit is a web-based IRC Client if you are unable to use mIRC, or do not have Firefox. It requires no download, and minimal setup. Follow the instructions to connect:
Note: Make sure not to close your browser, as it will close Mibbit. --- CHATZILLA SET UP Chatzilla is an IRC Add-on for Firefox. To download and install it, go here. Once installed, go to Tools -> Chatzilla (on Firefox) and follow the instructions:
--- SWIFTIRC SET UP
--- Registering Nicknames You will need to register your IRC nickname so that once you are a member, your proper access is granted. To register, simply join a channel (/join #Skill_Night), and pick a nickname. Then type: /ns register password password email email Replace password with your choice of password, and email with your email address. Note that it must be typed twice, the second being a confirmation. Once you've done that, check your email and copy and paste the confirmation command, which should look like: /ns confirm [random letters] Once you run that command, you are now registered. |

You keep on talking but it makes no sense at all You try to fake it but you’re breaking every rule Right from the start you've always made me feel a fool The guilt you hide will come between us after all | |
