1. Vampires can consume human food and drink. When they do their bodies will process it just like it did when they were living. This makes certain things required even for a vampire, but it is also a must for some things (such as the excretion of fluids). 2. Vampires over the age of 500 are uncommon, 1000 years old are rare and those over 1500 years are virtually unheard of. Also, only the covenant knows a vampire's true age, they are not allowed to disclose this to others. 3. Vampires do not kill other vampires, except in extreme cases. Those found guilty of slaying another vampire are sentenced to death. As such, issues between vampires are taken up with the covenant masters. War is the only exception to this rule and constitutes and "extreme case". 4. All vampires gain limited telepathy. This manifests itself in the form of being able to "charm" or "Captivate" a mortal through eye contact. Also, it gives them the ability to speak directly to and from another creature's mind. 5. Vampires become stronger and faster than their human counterparts. This depends on the strength of their sire, an old sire will produce a more potent vampire than a young sire. 6. Vampires can drink 'dead blood' but many find it distasteful, but it is a means of survival. Dead blood constitutes any blood not supporting life. Blood bank blood is an example. 7. Vampires -are- capable of sex. 8. Vampires are NOT born, they are only made. Vampires CANNOT reproduce. It is impossible, completely, utterly, NOT possible. 9. Generally all vampires want to feed nightly and nightly feeding is required of younger vampires (those under 100 years of age). Older, stronger ones can go several days without feeding, but will notice diminished abilities in the process. Withstanding sleep will only magnify these side-effects. 10. A stake through the heart will not kill a vampire. It is extremely painful, and does take a long period to heal, but won't kill them. 11. They gain a set of extended canines which used for feeding. These are not retractable. ---- 000 ---- Creation Vampires are created when the person is drained of blood, then fed that of his or her sire. If a werewolf is changed they lose their werewolf qualities and become purely vampire; also non-humans cannot be embraced at all. Pets These are humans that offer themselves willingly to vampires to feed upon. A vampire does not kill or harm their pet, as it is considered in bad taste to do so. This does not mean some vampires do not use and abuse their pets, but generally they do not. As well, sometimes a vampire will fall in love a mortal, but as opposed to turning them will take them on as a pet. Bonding (Vampire with Human) Bonding is the creation of a powerful link between human and a vampire. This link gives the human and vampire constant telepathic connection to one another, making it possible for a vampire to control their human counterpart if needed. This is not something undertaken lightly, the unnatural death of a bonded is a painful experience for the vampire in question. Also, most vampires need to be at least 100 years old to be able to form a bond. Bonds are formed through biting, but not feeding, upon a human once per night for three nights. On the third night they will become bonded with their vampire, this is known by a new telepathic link being placed between the two. Eventually the vampire can learn how to open and close this link on will, effectively giving them privacy. Bonding (Vampire with vampire) The benefits to a bond between vampires is similar to that between humans, except they cannot control one another. They can sense each other at any distance and can communicate with one another telepathically. This link can be closed by either party and their privacy is generally respected. The bond itself is formed by both vampires feeding from one another simultaneously. As well, this bond is very rare and one not taken lightly, after all... you must then spend eternity with your chosen bond mate. |
