Welcome to The United Literates, or TUL! We hope you enjoy your visit!

We're an all-genre, all-literate forum on the Zathyrus Networks, and we'd love to have you join! Our roleplays range from the fun to the mature, and are all member-run and created; they extend from Fictional roleplays set in the past and future, to Real-Life and Fan-Fiction categories. In addition to roleplays, TUL also has a vibrant community of artists and writers, featured in The Cafe section of the website, who also love to do things out of character through our Lounge area.

Right now, you're viewing the forum as a guest, which means you only have limited access to the board and its features. To join TUL and start roleplaying with us, all you have to do is click the link below, register, and pass through our brief application process. So what are you waiting for?

Role Playing Experience: I've been roleplaying for about two years, and have gained quite the experience.

Role Play Sample: Yumiko swam in a crystal clear pond, her long, purple hair trailing behind her. She flitted softly from one position to another, her singing voice floating in bubbles to the surface as her tail ribboned through her hair. The slightly curled tips ringing the base of her fin. She stopped swimming to ascend the surface, the pale moonlight making her jade green eyes glow in the night. She shook droplets from her face as she climbed the bank, the dirt turning soft under her body as she sat up on the edge. She listened to the night, humming lightly as to not drown out chirping crickets and hooting owls.

A thin light glimmered from her tail as it split and dried, morphing her fin into legs. She opened a small sack hidden in the earth, a greenish blue fabric being pulled out slowly. She slid on the dress, her long, soaked locks falling gracefully around her shoulders and hips. Yumiko slipped on a pair of leathery slippers, perfect for running and avoiding things easily. She slinked through the branches and vines of the forest, her body coming to a stop as she saw a young couple sitting on a bench-like swing, the girl's head on his shoulder. She grinned as she snuck up on them, her quiet feet giving her the element of surprise. She rubbed her hand across their heads, shocking them greatly.
"Holy crap, Yumiko! Don't do that!" Her sister exclaimed. Junku was gripping the heart of his shirt, pantinging heavily.
"You ok?" Minku asked him, worry crossing her shock-stricken face.
"Yeah...fine..." He replied, sliding his hands from his shirt to hers.
"You guys jump so easily, and you never expect it." Yumiko said, laughing softly as she watched the two blush furiously.
Yumiko walked around the swing to face them properly.
"Sorry, I couldn't resist the urge."
"It's ok. What are you doing out here, anyway?" The mermaid's older sister questioned.
Yumiko's eyes widened for she didn't plan on running into them.
"I was... looking to pick wild berries." She lied smoothly, knowing her sister didn't know her secret.
"At seven at night? I don't think so. I think you were jst here to spy on our date." Junku said, rubbing her head like the little sister he thought of her as.
"That's right!" She said, falsely agreeing with him.
"Ok, we found you out. Now beat it." He said, turning towards Minku as he finished his sentence.
Yumiko nodded and walked off, glad they didn't questiong her wet hair and glittery sea green tattoo wrapping around her ankles.

She opened the door to her half of the shared apartment, her soddened shoes falling off her feet as she pulled her feet across the floor lazily. Yumiko parked herself on a light blue beanbag, a sewn-on beanbag made a pillow on the top. She pulled a thick quilt over herself, and soon fell into the mistiness of the stage between consciousness and unconsciousness. A loud slam sounded through to her room, followed by some voices. The noise didn't make her shift or wake, but she was conscious enough to hear her sister and her sister's boyfriend agree to get some dinner then got to bed. She fell asleep quickly to drown the sounds of the restless couple next door to her.

She woke up, stumbling groggily over her large plushie clamshell she thought of as ironic that her sister bought this for her as a novelty item. She walked into the living room, cautious not to make too much noise as she trudged through the room and out the door. She took no more than ten steps before a boy on a bike wrapped his arm around her and pulled her onto the cycle. She gasped as the bike slowed, but didn't stop.
"Um, who are you and why did you do that?" She asked, gripping him by the waist tightly.
He stopped and pointed to where she stood not five minutes ago. A truck turned the corner too quickly and hit a smaller truck, knocking a chunk of it into the mailbox of her home. Yumiko's eyes widened as she watched the disaster, all the while ont noticing that the boy had put her on the ground and took off.
"Who are you?!" She yelled, knowing she would receive no response.

The Genres: I do a lot of fantasy, including medieval, modern, and science. All of my roleplays include action and romance, and are generally mature.
