OOC Information Name: I trust you can read. Gender: Male, not that it means anything to me, especially on the internet. Who were you referred by? What site were you referred from?: Eccentric Feline~ Age: 19 Contact: The movie was okay, I haven't read the book. I am fond of Carl Sagan though. Role Playing Experience: I dunno. Seven years was it? IC Information Role Play Sample: Before I copypaste an intro I did for a "lol guys let's remake Twilight" rp, know that I don't really care for dropping samples. I think they're misleading. So here's what you should generally expect from my posts. I'm possessed of the opinion that roleplays are . . . well roleplays. As such, I avoid excessively long posts, padding posts (that's probably more something I avoid because of my flair for hedge-trimming), or otherwise making it uncomfortable reading. Easy reading is my aim. To that end, I also try to make sure I've got everything edited and looked over. Typically you'll get four or more full paragraphs from me, not counting dialog or other things of that nature. I have two main goals in my posts. Provide a reaction befitting the chosen character, and provide an action to react to. Beyond that, I try to be sure to convey feeling and their expression of it, and advance or add too plot. Slow progression irks me, as well as having to skip time because of slow progression. That said, timeskips don't bother me when they're actually useful, such as to be able to skim over such functions as sleeping or otherwise boring content. -------------- Ellis Bell Swan languidly watched the city pass by from the passenger seat of his mother's car. Best not to focus on where his mother was going, just keep an eye on what's going by; preserving his nerves for the impending flight would be preferably to losing them from watching all her near-misses. He also knew that this was one of last stretches of time he had to reap the one advantage of the eternal sunshine and desert heat; people were less inclined to wear more clothes than they had to. Forks likely wasn't renowned for eye-candy. He had made the decision to go there despite that, however. His mother had Phil now, and Phil's lifestyle was not commensurate with Renee having a kid. Ellis didn't mind so much, it was a lot of responsibility taken away from him. Taking care of his mother had been a chore. He didn't hate the task either, but it'd be nice to have more time to himself with a more autonomous parent. Ellis also would rather have his mother out and about and happy than being chained to him simply because of age, and so he had opted to move, knowing he had another parent. Forks was likely only going to be a part of his life for the whole year it would take to finish school and get into a university. Everybody wins. He picked idly at a button of yellow plaid buttoned shirt he had decided to wear, he had rolled the sleeves up to his elbows, and left a good deal of the buttons unbuttoned, wearing a cyan shirt with some bright graphic on it, mostly obscured by the shirt. Ellis was kinda tan, it wasn't something he regularly devoted himself to, but it's hard not to acquire one in the Phoenician sun. Mother's green eyes saw the world through the tint of Oakley's and dad's dark dark chocolate hair fell in gentle waves largely unkempt. He liked how his hair fell naturally anyways. Well there was this one girl in his school. She was attractive enough, he had guessed, her lips were too full for her face, but she was so pale compared to the others around her. And vapid. Utterly dislikable. He took care to avoid her. At the airport, he said his goodbyes to Renee, who brought up that he was wearing his khaki cargo shorts. He had meant to wear jeans this morning, but evidently habit had caused him to do otherwise. Ellis kept a jacket and a coat with him, knowing full well the weather would be very different, as well as socks and a pair of converse to replace his flipflops. Phoenix to Forks was a significant trip, and his mother booked him a flight to Sea-Tac rather than Port Angeles. Two flights and a drive, in fact. Charlie picked him up. The drive would be a while, though Ellis wouldn't catch any sleep. Uncomfortable as it was, he did sleep on the planes, barring the occasional screaming child. He wished a couple of his friends could see this actually. Charlie was clearly where he got his quiet from. Mystery solved. Eventually, the silence was broken. Charlie told Ellis that he had found a good car for him, a cheap one. Ellis was quite grateful, and made sure to articulate his gratitude. A car would be incredibly useful, given that the police cruiser his dad drove was rather conspicuous. Autonomy of that variety would be quite grand, and showed a rather great amount of trust on Charlie's end. Ellis found it very kind. Still in shorts and flipflops, as he had been too lazy to change and the olive, Hollister jacket he donned had been sufficient, he deposited everything in his room. Charlie didn't stick around when he wasn't wanted or needed at that particular instant. It was a quality Ellis found enjoyable. The quiet was also nice. The contents of the refrigerator, cupboard, and various other storage locations in his dad's kitchen . . . not so nice. He could cook well enough, and it'd be a familiar task. "Charlie? Hey, I'm going to the store. I saw it on the way here, won't be long. I'll make dinner when I'm back." Charlie grunted an approval, and Ellis headed out. The old truck was rather . . . nice. He found it felt sturdy, and the oldness of it had some appeal he wasn't sure he could quite properly express. It was a nice gift. He'd have to thank Charlie again. The damp weather made for very verdant scenery. It was appealing. It would make up for the human eyecandy perhaps. The store he noticed earlier came to view. Ellis took a couple of attempts at parking, admired his work briefly, and entered the store, coming up with a brief list from his memory of what Charlie possessed. His attire, tan, and being new here would likely draw attention. He'd have to talk, but didn't mind terribly much as it might make his first school day here in Forks a more fluid transition. Charlie likely mentioned him anyways, the introductions would be made brief, and he could use his shopping to get away from people amicably enough. The Genres: I'm very very flexible. However, I do like to have fantastical elements. Really as long as I have a clear direction to work for, and a liking for the content I'm pretty content with anything. Though, one little caveat in my flexibility is that fandoms are very, very hit and miss with me. You can ask about them, sure, but don't get your hopes up. Even if I like the fandom in question, it may not be something I'm comfortable writing. |

>> The spacing got messed up and I can't edit my own post boohoo. Know that that was not supposed to consume so much space, the paragraphs got broken in translation somehow. |
