| Welcome to The United Literates, or TUL! We hope you enjoy your visit! We're an all-genre, all-literate forum on the Zathyrus Networks, and we'd love to have you join! Our roleplays range from the fun to the mature, and are all member-run and created; they extend from Fictional roleplays set in the past and future, to Real-Life and Fan-Fiction categories. In addition to roleplays, TUL also has a vibrant community of artists and writers, featured in The Cafe section of the website, who also love to do things out of character through our Lounge area. Right now, you're viewing the forum as a guest, which means you only have limited access to the board and its features. To join TUL and start roleplaying with us, all you have to do is click the link below, register, and pass through our brief application process. So what are you waiting for? Welcome to TUL! Getting The Hang Of It
|
Name: Amelia, Wings, Lufwood (Typically the names I go by.) Gender: Female Who were you referred by? What site were you referred from?: Walking Softly (He's a friend of mine who thought that thought I would like this site. Love ya man!)Age: 22 Contact: legolla50@hotmail.com (Usually can get me through that.) Role Playing Experience: Started off on neopets.com, but I moved onto several forums that were focused on tastes that I liked such as ArtemisFowlConfidential and The Edge Chronicles Forum. I also met up with a few people on gaiaonline.com and rped there as well. However, most of the forums I pulled away from, resulting in more one on one rps with people I met online. I've been doing independent rps for several years now. Role Play Sample:“Goodmorning Mrs. O,” said Electra respectfully. “Here’s your order of fish.” Warmly, she handed the package to the elderly lady before turning to leave. “Thank you deary,” replied the elderly woman. Before Electra could leave she felt a strong hand wrap around her arm. “Now let me find you a good boy.” She tapped Electra’s cheek and gave a toothless smile. “That’s nice of you Mrs. O. But I’m okay,” Electra admitted, as she slowly pulled away. She rubbed her arm and headed down the steps. “I’ll see you next week ma’am.” She heard a sigh before hearing the door shut behind her. Before returning to her bike Electra stopped to look at the scenery. Below her she could see the ocean lap onto the shore, fishing boats scattered in the distance. Above her, gulls glided smoothly through the air. The white houses lined up neatly amongst the hillside of her city. A cool, salty breeze blew over her. She took a deep breath in. She loved the smell of salt. Electra grew up in the city. The citizens called it “Poseidon’s neighbor.” Many of the parents told the children that Poseidon, the God of the Sea, blessed their city with fish because of their many tributes to him. Electra knew better than to believe the old wives tale, but she went along with it anyways. Soon she continued on her way to finish her deliveries. The others went off without a hitch and she found herself finishing ahead of time. Now, since it was now a more reasonable hour, people began to emerge from their homes. She past by them swiftly. As Electra headed for the beach she noticed that it was getting strangely hot, even with the breeze. But she ignored it, assuming it was from her biking. She continued on her way to the beach. As she left the main roads of the city, the roads began to get rockier, making it harder to control her bike, but she managed. Sweat slowly rolled down her body, making her skin shine. In the distance, she saw a line of rocks bordering the beaches edge. Already her friends had convened and were waiting for her arrival. She squeezed the antique horn and watched their heads turn. One jumped down from the rocks and took a swig of water. He wiped the remaining drops away from his mouth and walked towards her. Electra braked slowly and swung a leg over. She pushed her bike the rest of the way. “Hey Ben.” Electra smiled, resting her bike on the ground. Ben crossed his arms and smiled, his honey coloured hair blowing over his eyes. As usual Ben was shirtless, the sweat from body glistening over his muscles. Electra rolled her eyes. Like her, Ben was 18 and would be joining her at the University of Athens for Language and Cultural Studies. “What took you so long Electra?” He asked. Electra laughed. “Unlike you bums, I have a job.” She nudged Ben and looked up. “Now are we going to the beach?” She asked. “Yeah, yeah,” Ben replied, giving a wave of his hand as he began to head in the direction of the shore. The others-Liza, Sam and Sarah-stood and followed Ben to the beach. Liza was 17 and from Athens. Her family had moved from Athens to their city when she was 10 to care for her ailing grandmother. Unlike the others, Liza had lighter skin; one could tell that her family had never worked on a fishing boat before. And because her family had not worked manually, she was much stockier than the rest. Her round-ish face was framed by long pure blonde hair. Meanwhile, Sam and Sarah—twins—were 16 and were both born in the city like Electra and Ben. However, the twins and their family traveled a lot around the differing cities, meaning that they were also lighter than the others, but were just as thin. Both twins had striking black hair, which emphasized the freckles on their face. All of them were misfits, but Electra loved them nonetheless. The Genres: Typically I focus on fantasy, especially novels. Mostly I do The Edge Chronicles, Artemis Fowl, Harry Potter. But I also do Steampunk and just general fantasy. But I'm willing to try any genre. |
