| Welcome to The United Literates, or TUL! We hope you enjoy your visit! We're an all-genre, all-literate forum on the Zathyrus Networks, and we'd love to have you join! Our roleplays range from the fun to the mature, and are all member-run and created; they extend from Fictional roleplays set in the past and future, to Real-Life and Fan-Fiction categories. In addition to roleplays, TUL also has a vibrant community of artists and writers, featured in The Cafe section of the website, who also love to do things out of character through our Lounge area. Right now, you're viewing the forum as a guest, which means you only have limited access to the board and its features. Name: Owncksd. Or Brian. You can really call me just about anything, so long as you're consistent. Gender: Male Who were you referred by? What site were you referred from?: I had an account on here a loong time ago, back before you had your own domain name (I think you were hosted by InvisionFree). I felt an urge to roleplay, so I tracked you down here. Age: 18 Contact: - Role Playing Experience: It's been a while, so I'm probably a little (read: a LOT) rusty, so bear with me. IC Information Role Play Sample: The city walls were in sight. The next chapter in Kanav’s life was about to begin, and he was absolutely terrified. There was no chance he was going to be well-received. No chance of a clean start. Most of the low-landers had probably never even seen one of his kind before. Standing at 8’1” and weighing a whopping 343 pounds, Kanav Solitary Iaoliuai towered over most, and was even considered large by his own race’s standards. As a Goliath he was naturally enormous, but trained well in the art of the greataxe strapped to his back, he quickly became one of the largest and sturdiest of his tribe. That is, of course, until three weeks prior, when he was exiled for his inability to carry his own weight in the tribe. He hadn’t contributed to the tribe’s food supply in months, and truth be told, had the chieftain not cast him out, Kanav would have left himself. It was customary in Goliath society for the old, sick, and weak to be expelled, left for dead in the mountainous wilds that they called their home. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, and every Goliath - down to the last man, woman, and child - knew that. It was the inevitable fate of all who did not die in battle or of the everyday perils of their nomadic life, and most met that fate with a grim acceptance and a knowing smile. Before they leave, the chieftain presents them with a new honorific to signify their new status as an exile (in Kanav’s case, Solitary). The young Goliath was certain that was the end – he was weak and malnourished, hadn’t eaten properly in weeks, and he was left without the shelter and kinship of a tribe. The Ram Lord smiled on him that day, however, and a goat appeared to him, leading him to a herd of elk where he made his first kill in months. Now here he was, in sight of the great walls of the city of Lyrabar. It wasn’t a difficult choice to forsake the life of the mountains in favor of the low-lands. Kanav wasn’t a lone wolf, he much preferred company, so the life of a hermit was not appealing; and the chances of his running across another Goliath tribe willing to adopt him was extremely slim. With no other option before him, he forced one quivering boot in front of another, making his way down to the city gates. The Genres: I'm up for just about everything, but I'm mostly into fantasy (specifically medieval). |

Welcome (back) to TUL! Your application was completely in order. I confess I'm curious about how one would go about pronouncing your username - is there a trick to it, perhaps a vowel sound that I'm missing? ^^ (Maybe I'll ask again on your introduction. You will post one, right? ) |
