Welcome to The United Literates, or TUL! We hope you enjoy your visit!

We're an all-genre, all-literate forum on the Zathyrus Networks, and we'd love to have you join! Our roleplays range from the fun to the mature, and are all member-run and created; they extend from Fictional roleplays set in the past and future, to Real-Life and Fan-Fiction categories. In addition to roleplays, TUL also has a vibrant community of artists and writers, featured in The Cafe section of the website, who also love to do things out of character through our Lounge area.

Right now, you're viewing the forum as a guest, which means you only have limited access to the board and its features. To join TUL and start roleplaying with us, all you have to do is click the link below, register, and pass through our brief application process. So what are you waiting for?

Role Play Sample:

Mother fucking son of a kobold humping whore!
She fumed to herself as her foot came free from her boot with a squelching pop as boot stayed resolutely stuck in the treacherous bog that the ceaseless rain had turned the forest into.“Run one little errand for me apprentice! “ she mocked as she untied her other boot “It'll give you the extra credit you need to make Journeyman!” she grimacing as mud squelched up into her socks and between her toes with each disgusting step as she continued her journey. Her mud caked boots now hanging from her belt. “I am never trusting that vicious, conniving, lying, son of a.. a ..aachoooo,” she sneezed violently and wiped at her face with a sodden and muddied sleeve. “Ugh, disgusting!”

She was startled from her contemplated of the now snotty sleeve when a hand clamped around the back of her neck. Squawking and flailing about in surprise she was propelled forward into a hidden camp.

“Look what I found boys!” Her capture called out as the rest of his merry band drifter over from their makeshift camp by a sheltering cliff face.“A little drowned mouse!”

Drowned mouse, how original. It wasn't fair, many people managed to took charmingly dishevelled or dashingly dangerous no matter the situation. While she always looked like she'd been dragged through a bush backwards or, as now, like a drowned rodent. Why did everyone have to rub her face in it? Glared around the circle, especially people who had their own hygiene issues to worry about?

“Look,” she said focusing on what appeared to be the leader, “let me explain this to you. I am tired, soaked to the bone, freezing, filthy and starving. I just want to collect what I'm after and go back to the mage tower and have a nice looooong hot bath.” Shoved her glasses up and wiped ineffectual at the water streaming down her face as she glared myopically at the assembled bandits. “so lets not have any trouble.”

“Oh I think we can help warm you up sweetie!” One called out. “Might even have something to fill your belly with!” suggested another. There was an explosion of sniggers and backslapping at the displayed wit.

The leader smirked at his men before leaning forward “Be a good girl and do what we say and you might survive.”

“You're not very bright are you? I'm starting to loose my temper so do yourselves a favour and fuck off!”

“Now now don't be like that girlie. You come out here all alone, no one to protect you, not even a knife? You aren't in any position be making demands now are ya?”

“I can think of a couple of positions for her!” This caused even more raucous laughter.

She drove her elbow back hard, doubling over the bandit who had been holding her and lunged forward, pushing through the laughing crowd. Slipping and skidding in the mud she scrambled towards the cliff face where the bandits had been sheltering. Once there she grabbed up one of the discarded spears before turning to face them awkwardly holding the spear before her.

“Now what girlie?” The leader laughed. “You got no where to go!” he shouted, spreading his arms to to demonstrate how they now stood between her and any possible escape, “Not too smart are you girlie?”

With a grunt she heaved the spear at the assembled bandits. It wobbled through the air before burying itself point first just in front of the group. Laughing the leader sauntered over the to badly thrown spear, kicking at it contemptuously as his men followed him.

“Didn't anyone ever tell you how to handle a weapon sweetheart? We'll fix that for you!”

“Didn't anyone ever tell you not to stand near metal in a lighting storm?” She retorted while raised her glowing hands to the sky.

The Genres:
I prefer Fantasy settings over Sci-Fi but a good group & storyline beats genre every time in my experience. I'll try just about anything once. Except the glowing drinks. DON'T drink the glowing drinks! ;)
