Chain Battles
Rounds/Reductions

What is a chain?
A chain is a succession of battles fought one right after another without break or time for out-of-battle recovery. Instead of returning to the U.G. after a fight in the Noise Plane, a Player is transported directly to the location of the next Noise group. Enemies grow stronger with every passing round.

Initiate a chain by designating the Noise groups (symbols) you will fight when you scan for Noise with your Player Pin, before entering your first Noise battle. This may be in words or pictures, just make it clear.

The HP of and damage done by Noise increases (slightly) with each passing round.

The following characteristics are carried from the end of each battle to the beginning of the next.
i.e. These are not reset each battle.
  • Fusion levels
  • Fusion stars
  • Pin gauges
  • Pin limits (allowed # of uses)
  • Remaining HP
  • Statuses

Initially, Players cannot chain battles. A sticker must be purchased at the Corner Shop before the ability to chain battles is possible.
In character, this is the equivalent of your character purchasing a how-to book at a shop.

Why would I ever want to do this?
Chaining a number of battles together increases the chances you will receive pins from defeated Noise.
For example, I chain three Noise symbols together.
The first Noise group will be regular strength. You have one chance to receive a pin from each Noise you defeat.
The second group is slightly stronger. You have two chances to receive a pin from each Noise you defeat. (i.e. It is possible for you to win two pins.)
The third group of Noise is even stronger still. You have three chances to receive a pin from each Noise you defeat. (i.e. It is possible for you to win three pins.)

Clothing
Your clothes are your identity. That's why I only wear Gatito and I'll keep wearing Gatito till the end!

Just wish I owned more than one outfit.

When a character first enters the Game, he/she begins with five clothing items. These are chosen by the member who created the character in their application. Each piece must be within the character's BRV value and much be an established piece from the DS Game.

Currently there are no bonuses for wearing certain brands in certain areas, just as there are no penalties.

Certain clothing abilities present a problem and do not integrate well to a forum format. The following abilities will be adjusted so that clothing better serves Players. Please consult this list if you are unsure whether a clothing item has been altered.

Adjustments
ExampleChange
Display Time
Displays the amount of time elapsed during battle.
Display Stats
Displays the amount of HP remaining for each Noise in battle.
When Shiki wears this, her HP increase(s).The specific character's name is replaced with "the wearer".
When Joshua wears this, his air combo map changes to the shape of a dagger. The required fusion stars for the wearer's fusion attack does not increase when a fusion attack is used.
When your partner wears this, the number of combo panels increases by 1."combo panels" is replaced with "attacks per post"
When your partner wears this, the number of combo branches increases by 1."combo branches" is replaced with "attack opportunities"
When your partner wears this, combo finishers will sometimes Immobilize enemies, but as a trade off Neku will move more slowly."Neku" is replaced with "you"
When Neku wears this, the HIT counter takes a lot longer to disappear.Anything mentioning the HITS counter is changed to Faster Puck.
When Beat wears this, he receives 3 free Fusion *s as soon as he enters a battle. The specific character's name is replaced with "the wearer".
Exceptions to this are Her Stuffed Animal, Your Cap, and Angel Feather. The ability of these will not apply to any wearer.
Nag-free Escape
When your Partner wears this, they stop getting mad at you for running from battle.
Tolerable
Block the sync rate of a pair from ever falling below 20%.
Show Combo Map LongerDisplay Stats
Displays the amount of HP remaining for each Noise in battle.

How to create/submit a custom clothing piece or accessory:
     1. Purchase a "clothing request" Corner Shop.

     2. After processing, you receive a form by PM. Submit your desired article of clothing or accessory using this and wait for consideration.

     3. If your item is accepted, you will receive the first of its kind. If it is declined, you will receive a PM detailing problems with the design.
There are alterations at times between the design and the final item (especially regarding ability).

     4. The clothing item will be added to iNspire's custom catalog for others to purchase and view.

Clothing Hint: There is a possibility you will be given a free clothing item by visiting the owner of CaelZ, Sia Lestrade, while browsing her store on CAT Street.

Drop Rate
Oh, snap! I dropped my laptop! Is the data OK!?

Difficulty determines what pins may be found from an encounter with a specific species of Noise. Pins that may drop from specific Noise can be viewed on the TWEWY Wikia.

Pin dropped by Noise in a battle will be determined by a moderator who will post the results of a drop randomization at the end of a battle thread. There will be a link to the page used to determine results as verification. Pins will be added to each character's inventory at the end of the thread.

1.) The chance of a pin dropping is also determined by difficulty. To calculate the drop, a die is rolled with the number of sides that there are chances. A 1 means that you get the pin.
Easy: 1 in 2 chance of dropping (50%)
Normal: 1 in 4 chance of dropping (25%)
Hard: 1 in 6 chance of dropping (26%)
Ultimate: 1 in 8 chance of dropping (12.5%)
2.) A pin, thread, or award that increases drop rate will double the chances of a pin being dropped. Ex. Easy pins will drop by default, Normal pins will drop 50% of the time, Hard will drop a third of the time, and Ultimate pins will drop 25% of the time.
3.) Chain battles will increase the potential number of drops a Noise may have. For instance, chaining two Noise symbols together give you the chance to earn twice as many pins from the second group.
4.) The Player to defeat the Noise is given any drops. This individual's difficulty will determine what pin is dropped. The pins given to each player will be made clear by the moderator. Whether Players participating in a pact decide to share the dropped pins is up to the Players themselves.

Special iNspire-specific pin rules:
  • Yen pins     1¥, 5¥, 10¥, 50¥, 100¥, 500¥, 1000¥, 5000¥, 10000¥
    - are dropped by Noise, but iNspire does not keep track of them. Characters may loosely keep track of how much money they have in their possession from these. They do not affect OOC money

  • Metals     Rare Metal, Tektite, Adamantite, Orichalcum, Scarletite
    - are not dropped by Noise. In any case where a metal would appear, it is substituted by one Amalgamate pin.
(These metals will be used as achievements on iNspire and are not required to purchase certain pins like the DS Game.)

  • Lucky Star, Lady Luck and Lucky Panda are special pins given away in character and as prizes out of character.
Lucky Star = Doubles pins dropped by Noise for two weeks (applied after drop calculations are made)
Lady Luck = An extra, random pin is dropped at the end of every individual battle thread for two weeks (no chain)
Lucky Panda = Doubles experience earned for two weeks

  • Boss Noise pins     Rhyme, Leo, Anguis, Tigris, Ovis
    - are achievement pins that cannot be found or used in character.

  • Noise pins     Corehog, Jelly, Shark, Cornix, Popguin, Pteropus, Mink, Boomer, Sprog, Fox, Bat, Shrew, Woolly, Raven, Drake, Carcin, Grizzly, Wolf, Frog
    - will be dropped normally from Taboo Noise and sub-bosses

  • Shadow Matter
    - will be randomly replaced with one of the six pins of the Darklit Planet set- Black Mars, Black Jupiter, Black Uranus, Black Venus, Black Saturn, or Black Mercury).
If you are already in possession of one of those pins, it will not appear unless you request otherwise in a battle thread.

  • Resonance pins     D+B, Natural Puppy, Pavo Real, Mus Rattus, Jupiter of the Monkey, Sheep Heavenly, Tigre Punks, Dragon Couture, Lapin Angelique, Pegaso, Wild Boar, Gatito, Hip Snake
    - will be randomly replaced with Fierce as the Flame, Swift as the Wind, Hushed as the Wood, or Stalwart as the Mount.
If you are already in possession of one of those pins, it will not appear unless you request otherwise in a battle thread.

  • The Pig pin is a token that may be used to summon a random pig Noise.

Fusion
Fusion Stars
Each character gains fusion stars in his/her individual way. This system mirrors The World Ends With You.
  • No individual can see their own combo map or system, it is visible only by their Partner.
  • A Partner should be able to influence the system.
Good example: Being able to call out the cards available on the branches or what a card has to be higher than.
  • The system should require imput and be manual, not give an automatic reward.
Bad example: A countdown timer that automatically awards stars if there are more attacks then seconds.
  • There should be some sort of bonus for correctly guessing.
Good example: After five correct guesses, an attack is magnified across the entire screen.

Note: While both individuals have their own systems and it is possible for both to earn stars simultaneously, often the most effective way to gain stars is by one individual focusing on their Partner. The trick is that no matter the resulting combination, partners become coordinated and work together.

Fusion Attacks
By gathering a certain number of fusion stars, a much powerful and widespread fusion attack becomes available.
Lv. 1 Fusion: 4 total stars required
Lv. 2 Fusion: 8 total stars required
Lv. 3 Fusion: 12 total stars required
A pair may not have more than twelve stars at any given time. After a fusion attack is used, the number of stars required to reach the next level increases by one at each stage. After using one fusion, the required four stars per level increases by one, making the attack achievable at 5, 10, and 15 stars.

Fusion attacks occur in three levels and are achieved under certain circumstances.
  • Level one is possible from the very point of a pact being created.
  • One level may be accessed after the pair manages to complete their first mission.
  • One level may be accessed by both members purchasing the fusion at the shop.

Once a pact is made, partners may create a thread in the Fusion forum where they can discuss and finalize their fusion attack(s). After agreeing on a standard fusion attack, a pair may execute their fusion attacks in any battle given the proper number of fusion stars.
