TAS El Dorado -- Commander's Log: After nearly five months of patrolling looking for my aunt's insane alternate doppleganger, we have yet to find anything and then we get word that she attacked the Presidential Compound killing nearly 200 people inside the compound and leaving more than a hundred dead invaders - the exact number was kept classified but that just means it's a larger number than we want to realize. So that means patrolling the Xenex System is a lesser priority than protecting the main Terra Alpha system. Can't say I'm entirely heartbroken about coming home and we are in desperate need of a resupply, El Dorado can carry a lot of supplies, but when you're trying to build a new defense force from nothing, set up civilization again and the crushing reality that even 'a lot' isn't enough sinks in, it will feel wonderful to go back to my place in the Xenexian settlement and check on family. Pause Log "Commander... there's an Imperium shuttle on sensors. Executive class." D'ar'l, one of their new XDF recruits said as he looked up from a security console. "Hail them. Raise shields, slowly power up weapons, but keep it at Yellow." Zeke ordered and waited for the occupant of the shuttle to come up on screen. "They're responding. Says she knows you." D'ar'l said with a raised eyebrow. "On screen." Zeke ordered and cleared his throat. "This is Commander Ezekial Ryder, of the Alliance and Xenexian Defense Force. State your intentions." "Hello nephew." Kalia said with a smile. "So formal." "Kalia Lei..." he shook his head. "What the hell are you doing in Alliance space in an Imperium executive shuttle. Kind of not really welcome in our border, could be considered an..." "Act of war... maybe. But I'm not here for a fight. I'm here to defect." Kalia said with a sigh. "And... make a proposal and I have a few gifts." "Uh oh..." Zeke winced. "Just a moment." he held up his finger. "Hail Terra Alpha, they should know about this before we do ANYTHING." |

T'Kir was woken up by the insistent buzzing of the priority communication on her terminal. Ever since the attack on the P.C. she had been up very late negotiating with their allies and reassuring them that this was an isolated incident and to get access to any information they could get on Jackson and K'n'zy's whereabouts. As such she was dressed in a rather threadbare slip and not made up in the slightest. "What t'bloody hell are y'botherin' me for at his ungodly hour?" T'Kir said and rubbed her eyes. "If this is somethin' that could be handled by someone else, I'm seriously going to snap yuir bloody neck." "And a good morning to you too Ambassador." Zeke chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Gee... we wonder why some of our allies are a bit on edge." "Ye try gettin' by on two hours of sleep." T'Kir grumbled and popped a few pills and washed it down with water. "So what d'ye want?" "Kalia Lei. She's about twenty yards from my port side docking port and she's requesting asylum and defection." Zeke said with a grin. "Unless you'd rather I wait until you're awake...?" "Shush. You're cheeky like your father and I have repeatedly smacked him for bein' cheeky." T'Kir replied and chuckled. "So... she's defecting... bring her aboard, under guard. I'll holographically question her. Which is amusing, since that's what she does." "I thought you'd be interested." Zeke said and nodded to his security officer. "Alright, we're going to bring her aboard... be ready in five." "I'll be ready in two." T'Kir said as she tapped a few controls and a holographic form of herself appeared on the bridge of El Dorado. "Neural telepresence holographic avatars. Goddess answered my prayers. I love this." "And no one would know you're in your apartment half asleep looking, not made up and in a slip nightgown that looks more worn out than the one my wife wore for the past decade." Zeke teased and put his arm across her shoulders. "You should see my kid. He's getting big." "I'm more interested in Lei's. Which is amusing since she's probably as old as your son and yet she looks like she's barely out of her twenties." T'Kir commented as they made their way into the holding cells. "This bloody ship is so... chrome." "Hey, alternate reality design. I kinda like it. Even if the Warp Core looks like a brewery that my dad took me to once." Zeke chuckled and ran his hand through his hair. "Told you we'd be quick Miz Lei." "Please, call me Kalia. Ah... Ambassador T'Kir, lovely to meet you again." Kalia said with a perky tone of voice. "Not so lovely... so what's all this about defecting?" she asked with her hands on her hips. "If this is some game, I'm not amused." "Hardly. After Selene beat the living snot out of me with my own prosthetic leg and my mother's been turning into a sex addict over the grief and stress... I... I had to leave. Honestly, Alliance needs me more to help them find those two. So... I'm offering a proposal. In exchange for asylum, I'll help with the search effort and turn over some of the medical findings from the few attackers they used. As well as sworn testimony. I do have three conditions." Kalia said as she held up three fingers. "Always conditions with you Lei's." T'Kir deadpanned. "One. I don't want to be kept under constant guard. I came of my own free will and frankly I came to help. Two. I want Selene Lenara to assist me. She beat me pretty damn close to death with my own leg... she owes me. And three. When we do find those two. There is no jail time, there's no trial. They die. Definitively. Because I will tell you this, the Imperium wants those two and they'll hunt heaven and hell for them, but they won't be discreet." Kalia said as she calmly explained her terms. "Other than that... ask away." "Lenara is off the active duty roster." T'Kir said. "So... I doubt she'd be willing to help." "Make her willing. I don't care if she works this from an office, she's helping find those two so we can eliminate their threat once and for all. They've already taken entire units, they may even have starships under their command now. We can't track them until its too late. They are terrorists." Kalia said and sighed. "i'm giving up my home and my career to find them. If you won't help, maybe the Klingons will be more amiable." "Klingons... right... alright... alright." T'Kir sighed. "I'll run it past the proper channels. Meanwhile... enjoy the cell, we'll have food brought to you." "It's sushi night." Zeke winked. "Blech... but I'll eat it. I'm so sushi'd out it's crazy... been trying to lift mother's spirits with it and nothing's helping." Kalia grimaced. "I'm worried some of the other generals will try to depose her, but everyone is still scared of her. For now." |

A few hours passed and Kalia was lounging on the cot in her cell. Her prosthetic leg was propped up on the floor next to the bed as she idly ran her fingers over the stump. Selene did a number on the connection point and she had to spend weeks recovering to just be able to use even the one she had now which was far inferior to the one she usually wore. She did wonder why she defected... it wasn't like her to run away, she never was rebellious. And yet... it was the only way she could help and... maybe what Ethan had spoken about inspired her. She had changed a lot of thoughts she had after he came into her life. Although all she could think about was... what if they did agree to her terms. How could she face the woman that nearly killed her and that killed pretty much everyone in the White House? All she knew right now is that she was at the mercy of other people. People that could just as well have her spaced and 'forget' that she ever approached them. After all, she was only a barely two year old that was age accelerated into a woman. |

A few days had passed and Clint had made his way to the El Dorado, they weren't letting Kalia off the ship until either a) her story and intentions were cleared and b) this wasn't some precursor to yet another attack. He was dressed in a crisp three piece suit, a far cry from the usual tactical or training gear he wore, but it was intentional. Clint didn't want her to think he was the 'infamous' Hawkeye, he was just Deputy Director Cross of Naval Intelligence. Just another stuffed suit. Although when he offered to meet with her, since he knew that anyone related to the Empress was typically not quite up to good. Although he had to remember... his son James WAS technically in a sideways relation, her kid. Originally at least. Approaching the gleaming metallic holding cell, he saw Kalia in a lotus position on the bed, her mechanical leg propped up against the wall and a few books and empty water bottles on the other side. "If you are here to question me... you should know I have answered every question asked of me truthfully, without evasion or lie." Kalia said as she kept her eyes closed. "Furthermore, I came to help. That should mean something, shouldn't it?" "It could... but last time on of Empress Lei's kids came, nearly two hundred people lost their lives and left us with a lot of dead attackers, so it's logical we're just a little bit cautious." Clint said as he put his badge against the window. "Deputy Director Cross, Naval Intelligence." "I know who you are. You are Selene's husband." Kalia said softly. "I expected that you'd come when I made my proposal that she help with the hunt." "Well yeah, that's not gonna happen. She's off the active roster and frankly, she's just finally starting to get her head back together and the last damn thing she needs is to go off and hunt the people responsible for stealing six months of her life and using and abusing her, screwing with her head and her body." Clint snapped. "You want to help, great... we could use the extra hands, but Selene is off the table." "We'll see." Kalia said as she opened her eyes. "She nearly beat me to death with my own leg, I think she owes me." "She was controlled, she doesn't owe you shit." Clint replied a bit more harshly than he originally intended. "Wow, no wonder why Isabella has a swear jar." Kalia giggled lightly. "She is a charming girl and she saved my mother's life. Granted the Empress isn't perfect but... her death would have sent everything spiralling out of control, except now she's spiraling out of control herself. Sooner we get Jackson and K'n'zy the sooner we don't have to worry about mind controlled terrorists." "Alright, assuming I actually believe you." Clint said as he leaned against the conduit across from the holding cell. "You're an Imperium officer. You really think we're going to trust you?" "You trusted her." Kalia said and looked him in the eye. "She was Imperium. Same with little Carly. And yet you claim to love them both, do you not?" "I thought I was asking the questions." Clint said with a smirk as he ran his hand through his hair. "Then ask the right questions." Kalia said simply and closed her eyes. "Alright...so if we were to let you go, send you back to the Imperium... if we reject your offer to help. What would she do?" Clint crossed his arms. "Oh... probably let my molecules scatter. I'm just one of many. The leg doesn't exactly put me in her good graces, other than the fact that I still get results." Kalia looked at her nails "Only result I see so far is that you managed to give us only enough Intel to keep you alive." Clint said as he crossed his arms. "Well... I can give you more, but it won't do a ton of good." Kalia said and looked at him. "Ask your wife about Omega." |

"Jackson held us there... but we blew that place up pretty good." Clint said as he raised an eyebrow. "Oh you trashed most of it, but Omega was never about the station it was the Command Module, it was always sort of about that damn module. Barely larger than a Defiant Class but it's given the Imperium nervous sweats for the past three years." Kalia said as she looked at him and smiled. "Jackson was working on it before he died and it suddenly went... missing. Then it shows up again in a new spot. Then another spot. And then another. Pretty mobile for a Starbase huh? Well... it fold space. Some old El Aurian tech he found and adapted apparently. That's all we really know. That damn thing showed up near Earth and then disappeared. Then we got hit. I'm pretty sure that happened to you guys too. Only one that's still alive that would know anything about it... is your wife. Ask her. Better yet... call her here. I want to see her." she cocked her head slightly. "I want to show her that I'm still alive." "Catfight?" Clint raised an eyebrow. "Please, I may have been born barely a year ago, but I'm not that naive." Kalia replied and gave him a look. "She owes me. So get on your little communicator, call your wifey and let's talk. Unless she scares you too?" "I'm not scared OF my wife, I'm scared FOR my wife. She's finally putting this shit behind her." Clint said as he crossed his arms. "Let me tell you Clint... may I call you Clint? That she will never put it 'behind her', just like I can't and my mother can't. Oh sure the wounds will heal, the bruises will fade, but 'behind' us... could you put what he did to you behind you? Or K'n'zy? Mother almost called down hellfire on your head for killing Marcus until she learned who was behind it. Still... you are not on her list of favorite people." Kalia said coldly. "Yeah well... I'll bet the families of other people she's killed don't have her on their Christmas card list either." he replied and grimaced as he pulled out his communicator. "If she flips out, this is on you. Not me." "Just girl talk." Kalia said sweetly as she gave him a big grin. "Besides... for all we know Omega is just lurking in the shadows waiting to hit us again. What if she knows how to find it? Can you ignore that... or is she too much of a distraction... Mister Deputy Director?" |

The sun shined warmly in through the sunroom windows accompanied by a gently breeze. Selene sat with her feet tucked under her as she sipped on a cup of tea and nibbled on an assortment of berries and cherries. Watching Alice through the window as she expertly repaired the damage Selene had inflicted she popped another blueberry into her mouth. Alice had been extremely kind from the moment she had arrived. She hadn’t even commented about the garden just set to work removing the bushes planting more hydrangeas and even lavender. Selene thought the lavender seemed out of place but Alice reassured her of its calming properties. She didn’t argue after that she’d take all the calming properties she could get. Alice had arrived with more than pruning shears. She had brought Selene a fruit basket filled with blueberries, strawberries, cherries, and even raspberries. There had also been a box marked for Clint but Selene hadn’t noticed until she opened it. It was a box of purple thongs embossed with the Cross Archery logo. Selene had chuckled at the site but when she actually picked one up there were a nice quality lacy affair. For a moment Selene even contemplated wearing them. She knew Clint would get a kick out of it. Alice hadn’t arrived with just gifts she’d also came with 8 secret service agents. Every single one of them looked at her as if she would attack them any second and she couldn’t blame them. For moment she almost considered telling them they should have brought more but she didn’t. Alice made them stay outside and she was thankful seeing them made her nervous and it made them nervous seeing her. The last thing they needed or wanted was for an incident to occur. Selene popped another berry into her mouth and took a sip of her tea just as her communicator started to go off. Smiling to herself, she picked it up off the table, and activated it. “So Alice brought over some fruit and your first order of Cross Archery ladies wear. I was thinking I’d save the cherries for tonight and maybe pull aside a pair of these lovely purple lacy thongs.” Selene said playfully as she twirled one around her finger. “Maybe sooner if you can get off work early. You looked really tempting in the suit.” Edited by Selene Cross, Jul 19 2016, 01:04 PM.

Clint blushed slightly. "Good thing I have audio routed to my earwig." he chuckled and turned the comm's screen away from the cell. "Sounds like a solid plan. Hey... I'm with Kalia Lei." he turned the screen so she could see her. "She's kind of insisting on seeing you. I told her no, but she keeps going on about the Omega Base." Kalia spoke up as she limped closer. "Hi Selene... just want to do a little girl talk. You kind of owe me for beating me with my own leg. I feel like a pirate with the crappy one they gave me because you wrecked the connection point." she smiled sweetly. "But yeah, hey no hard feelings... just come up and we can chat. As lovely as it is to talk to your husband, there are some things I would rather discuss with you. And no I'm not flirting... much at least." "See what I mean?" Clint winced |

Selene stiffened at the sight of Kalia Lei. All she could see was the blood dripping down Lei’s face and the fear in her eyes. Her hand starting to tremble at the memory of beating Kalia almost to death. The pleasure she got from it because it pleased Jackson. Everything was starting to feel normal again. She didn't want to relive it. “No,” Selene said simply. Edited by Selene Cross, Jul 19 2016, 01:14 PM.

"Told you." Clint said with more than a little smugness in his voice. "Fine... then Selene, try to think about whatever you remember about the Omega base, anyone else alive that would have any information on it?" Kalia said and pouted slightly. "And I was so hoping to see your PTSD first hand. You still need to make it up to me Selene, if we're going to be working on the same side." "She said 'no'." Clint reminded her. "Just when I was ready to forgive you for beating me half to death." Kalia said and closed her eyes. "I guess the Alliance isn't as forgiving as you make yourselves out to be." |

"Fine have agents pick me up." Selene said angrily and slammed the communicator closed. She tossed it onto the table where it landed next to the basket of fruit and her cup of tea. Kalia Lei was the last person she wanted to see or even speak to. She was the only person Selene had attacked who lived. The sole purpose being for her to suffer just like Julie. The attack had been cruel and she still remembered the weight of the leg in her hand and the feel of it when she swung it. Selene shook her head trying to push out the memories. "Everything alright?" Alice inquired from the doorway to the garden. Her voice pulling Selene from her thoughts. "Yeah I just have to go out for a while." Selene said trying to sound composed.
